As teams in various regions are still trying to secure their ticket to The Berlin Major, two teams from the SEA region have already received theirs. With the final week of playoffs for the Division I DPC Spring Tour underway, Talon Esports and Team SMG can rest assured knowing they are the first teams to get their spot in The Berlin Major. Both teams got 1st and 2nd in their region.

Talon’s Journey

Talon’s an exceptional team from the SEA region, and they’re currently in 1st place, dominating every team in their region since their loss to Team Liquid at The Lima Major. Since their loss to Team Liquid, Talon remains undefeated with a 5-match win streak.

The team has a superstar hard-carry player, Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon, who was the first player to reach 13K MMR. He was also a victim of the Valve’s recalibration bug. The team surpassed everyone’s expectations at The Lima Major when they made an incredible lower-bracket run, placing third.

Team SMG’s Journey

Team SMG maintained their Division I spot in the Winter Tour. However, they have up their game in the Spring Tour. With a score of 5 wins, the team only lost their series against Talon Esports thus placing second in the groups just below Talon Esports. Team SMG has also received severe criticism from the Dota 2 community in the recent year due to how they treated one of the players. Since then, the team has been struggling with support from the fans. Despite having veteran players, including a veteran midlaner, Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng, the team’s been away from the international scene for quite some time.

Now, only a single seat remains for the SEA region. As the final week of the playoffs is underway, teams across various regions will also put on their best performance yet to secure their seat.
