Dota 2's Crownfall Comes With Two Arcanas

Valve has released the much-awaited Crownfall update. The update comes along with a comic called Ascension Day that provides the backstory for the update.  The comic explores the history between Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit.

The initial update of the Crownfall, known as The Market of Midgate, comes with several new cosmetic items, such as the much-awaited arcanas for Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit. The new hero, Ringmaster, is not yet available. The hero will likely get added in future versions of the update.

The Lore

The first part of the update reveals that there will be four stages for Crownfall. The initial update released earlier today revealed the storyline of the Crownfall. In short, Vengeful Spirit ( known as Shendelzare in the story) faced a coup staged by her sister Imperia. After a decade of waiting to avenge her death, Vengeful Spirit plans to take the throne back with the help of her lover, Skywraith Mage (Dragonus), and their god, Scree'Auk.

The Arcanas

First and foremost, let's look at the main dish of the show, the Arcanas. Both new Arcanas for Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit featured in the Crownfall update have standard Arcana packages.

It means that the new Arcanas come with a brand new model, animations, effects, hero assets, and voice lines related to the lore. Each Arcana costs 34.99 USD. However, there's a catch. If players play the minigame, a discounted price on each Arcanas is available.

Skywrath Mage's Arcana is known as The Devotions of Dragonus. It has two variations. The Resurrection of Shen is the Vengeful Spirit's Arcana, and it has three variations.

Players can also play Vengeful Spirit's evil sister, Queen Imperia if they wish. It is the third alternative variation of the VS Arcana.

The Features

Besides featuring the new cosmetics, the Crownfall update comes with numerous new features. One of them is like a battle-pass feature. The features continue the story of Ascension Day. It will allow players to guide the protagonists of the update, Vengeful Spirit and Skywraith Mage, through the streets of their VS's kingdom, Skywrath, to take back their throne.

In contrast, the map for the quest is bigger compared to the ones featured in Battlepasses. This map has more branches, minigames and side quests, providing the players with more rewards.

The coolest part of the new update is that the update features shop coins. If players have enough of these coins, they can provide a discount in the Crownfall store.

The Rewards

Two brand-new treasures also make their debut in the Crownfall update. The Crownfall Treasure 1 and Treasure 2 feature unique skins for players to collect throughout the event. Additionally, it also features a new skin for the couriers. Likewise, with the treasures featured in Dota 2, players can recycle the unwanted treasure for a bonus treasure. The update released earlier today is only the first act of the four-part series of the Crownfall update. As the story unfolds, Valve will release more updates on the overall story in the next month. Hopefully, it will give players more ways to have more rewards.
