NEXUS SERIES
Overview
NEXUS SERIES is a Dota 2 online tournament circuit organized by Nexus Media (also referenced as Nexus Gaming). Launched in 2026, the series aims to connect strong regional teams—primarily from South America with invited European sides—on a neutral competitive platform with its own brackets and multi-language broadcasts (English, Spanish, and Russian).
The circuit is positioned as a Tier 3 / regional (D-tier) event series. Prize pools have ranged from $10,000 USD for the inaugural edition to $20,000 USD for subsequent seasons. The organizer’s stated mission is to fill a gap for regional squads seeking cross-region competition outside larger established platforms. Official website: https://nexusseries.org/. NEXUS SERIES Season 2 2026 (NEXUS SERIES II) is the second edition of the circuit and the focus of the current competitive window.
History
NEXUS SERIES began in September 2026 with Nexus Series I, an eight-team South American-focused online event. The series quickly expanded for its second edition by increasing the field to 12 teams, doubling the prize pool, introducing closed qualifiers, and inviting European organizations such as Zero Tenacity, Team Lynx, and Team Synapse alongside South American sides.
A third edition, Nexus Series III, is scheduled for December 10–22, 2026, also with a $20,000 USD prize pool. Format evolved from a modified GSL group stage plus double-elimination playoffs in Season 1 to dual round-robin groups of six with double-elimination playoffs in Season 2. The organizer emphasizes independent production and multi-language casting rather than relying on third-party platforms.

Notable Editions
Nexus Series I (September 6–15, 2026) marked the launch. Eight invited South American teams competed online for $10,000 USD. Chandogs won the title as a relative underdog seed, defeating Pibbles Corp 3–0 in the Grand Final after dropping to the lower bracket. The event established the multi-language broadcast model and community focus.
NEXUS SERIES II (October–November 2026) expanded scale and geographic reach. Higher prize money, a larger field, closed qualifiers, and high-profile European invites (notably Zero Tenacity) raised competitive level and visibility. Group stage produced strong showings from Team Synapse, SOLID, Chandogs, and others heading into double-elimination playoffs. The edition is ongoing at the time of writing, with playoffs underway or imminent.
Nexus Series III (December 10–22, 2026) is the planned third 2026 stop with another $20,000 USD pool; format and teams to be confirmed closer to the date.

Viewership & Impact
Broadcasts are produced in-house in English, Spanish, and Russian. Primary English channel is Twitch twitch.tv/nexusmedia_en; Russian coverage includes twitch.tv/nexusmedia_ru. Spanish talent has appeared on Kick (e.g., Maggo). Talent for early editions included doedie666, Tultras, Maggo, neloboda/Crasheroni and others.
Viewership remains modest, consistent with a new Tier 3 regional series. English channel peaks during Season 1 playoffs reached the low hundreds (reported peaks around 193–256 concurrent on key days); later Season 2 streams have shown higher individual peaks (reports up to low thousands on the EN channel in aggregate stats). Average concurrent viewers typically range from tens to low hundreds. No large third-party broadcast partners (e.g., major ESL/BLAST-scale deals) are documented; production is organizer-led.
Culturally, NEXUS SERIES provides regular mid-tier competition and cross-regional matchups for South American organizations while offering European teams additional online practice and prize opportunities. It contributes ranking points tracked by services such as E-Rankings and supports the broader SA Dota 2 ecosystem alongside other regional circuits. Significance is growing within its niche but remains limited compared with Tier 1–2 global events. Official media kit and partner inquiries are handled via the organizer site.
