Must Watch Series of Week 2: Up and Coming Teams

Dota 2

With the first week of Tour 3 Regional Qualifiers over, we can somewhat determine which teams are moving to the top. But it is still too early to be 100% sure. Hopefully, we'll see a few comebacks from some bottom teams on the scoreboard. That will make the qualifiers much more exciting to watch. There are a few new faces at the top of the scoreboards.

The Teams to Watch

Bleed Esports

This team had an okay performance during the first two tours of the DPC. Somehow managing to stay in Division I until Tour 3, slowly adapting and making necessary changes. And finally, they could make it to the top in the first week after taking out two Berlin Major competitors. But this is just the start. They will be going against Talon Esports, the best team in the SEA region. Talon is known for taking advantage of long, drawn-out games. If Bleed is not able to sustain until then, it will pose an issue. Let's hope that they don't play into Talon's claws.

The Bleed Esports Vs. Talon match is taking place today at 10:00 am CET.

Quest Esports

Quest Esports, formerly known as Ooredoo Thunders, shocked the Dota community last Tour. Qualifying from Division II in Tour 1, they showed up in Div I in the second Tour and almost made it to the Berlin Major. Beating GG, Tundra, and Entity, they tied for fourth place with OG but unfortunately lost the tie-breakers.

In Tour 3, with ATF on their side, could they qualify? This time they were able to beat OG and Entity but lost to GG. They still have a few strong teams to go through. It would be nice to see some new faces on the main stage of the Bali Major.

Azure Ray

Formerly known as YBB Gaming, Azure Ray has reformed itself since Division II. With almost a brand-new squad, they have defeated Aster.Aries and Xtreme Gaming. Their current roster consists of,

  • Lou "Lou" Zhen
  • Lu "Somnus" Yao
  • Yang "Chalice" Shenyi
  • Xu "fy" Linsen
  • Jiang "天命" An
  • Zhang "LaNm" Zhicheng (Coach)

With such experienced players, it is no doubt this team will make it to the top. They will be facing two tough opponents this week, IG and LGD. If they win against these teams, then qualifying for the Bali Major will be within their reach.

Liquid Vs. Gaimin Gladiators

Now for the main series, Liquid vs Gaimin Gladiators. The Dota community is always excited to see these two teams clash. Being at the top of the DPC, Liquid and the Gladiators are pushing each other to the limit. However, Gaimin Gladiators have never been consistent during regional qualifiers but have managed to win both Majors this season. Team Liquid is the opposite, winning almost all matches during qualifiers but never being able to complete their run.

Liquid will face GG on Monday at 9:00 pm CET.
