Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi has several records under his belt. He was the first player to reach 9,000 MMR, had the highest KDA at The International Six and Eight, and recently he was part of a team that won the highest average MMR game in Dota 2.

One of the positives of the recent ban on smurfs by Valve is that pro players are forced to use their main accounts in pub matches, leading to new MMR records being set.

The game featured notable pros for both teams. Miracle- played offlane Centaur, while his role was occupied by Nikita "Nicky`Cool" Ostakhov on Zeus. The second part of the offlane went to Tundra Esports new support, Edgar "9Class" Naltakian on Tiny.

The safelane featured Aleksandr "rue" Filin and Entity's Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov on Techies and Phantom Lancer respectively. Watson streamed the game live on Twitch, it started around two hours and 30 minutes in the VoDs.

On the Dire side, Alik "V-Tune" Vorobey picked Queen of Pain for the mid lane, while Team Secret's carry Remco "Crystallis" Arets played his signature Razor in the off lane. He had the best partner in the world, two-time International Champion Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov with him.

Arman "Malady" Orazbayev played roaming support, strangely enough taking Doom for that role. Butterfly rounded the draft with a safe lane Templar Assassin.

Fans expecting an incredible match were disappointed though, as it was a complete stomp in favor of Miracle- and friends. The game only took 30 minutes and ended with a score of 47-14. Not quite the back-and-forth battle between Titans we hoped for.

Valve's crackdown on smurfs set the record for the average MMR match

Dota 2 smurfs banned Valve has made their stance crystal clear. (Credit: Valve).

Valve has taken several steps to combat smurfs in Dota 2. The company no longer tolerates players having multiple accounts, and will ban players who do so.

Sharing accounts is also unacceptable and Valve won't hesitate to ban pros even mid-match if they engage in anything they deem unacceptable.

The result of these new protocols is that pros are forced to play on their main (and often higher MMR) accounts. This is why a new record was set yesterday.

The average rank of the players was 25, the highest recorded in history.

The game was played in Europe, which is seen as the strongest region in Dota 2 currently. The last six Internationals have been won by either a Western or Eastern European team.

It'll be interesting to see what records get broken soon, especially with Valve doing their best to level the playing field.
