An unexpected defeat against Boom Esports put Secret at risk of elimination from the tournament. Recently, they had an uphill battle in the series against Virtus Pro. After a gruesome 89 minutes, they successfully took the win. After their victory, the team's offlaner, Miroslav "BOOM" Bičan, reveals how they overcame the odds against VP.

The Game

Team Secret's series against Virtus Pro was one of the most intense of PGL Wallachia Season 1 so far. While Team Secret dominated Game 1 with a cheesy Muerta draft, Virtus Pro took Game 2 with Lifestealer, one of the meta's heroes. With elimination on the line, both teams went into Game 3.

In Game 3, Team Secret put their fate in the tri-core of Lifestealer, Dragon Knight, and Timbersaw. VP, on the other hand, drafted Choas Knight, Lina and Centaur Warrunner. VP took the early game lead, but Secret wiggled their way back into the game.

Despite having mega creeps, Aegis advantage and a gold lead in net worth, Team Secret had trouble reaching the Ancient of Virtus Pro as VP Lina ripped up Team Secret's offences to shreds. However, as the match was pushing past the hour mark, players were getting impatient, which impacted their decision-making.

After the 85-minute mark, Virtus Pro made an all-in play, attempting to go through Team Secret's backdoor. Their desperate attempts ended with futile results as Team Secret tped to defend their Ancient.

Fortunately for Secret, they caught VP's Lina in the heat of the high-ground battle and wiped out Virtus Pro. Without a buyback on VP midlane Lina, Team Secret went for the throne and successfully eliminated Virtus Pro.

BOOM: "It gets boring at some point"

In the post-game interview, the offlaner of Team Secret, BOOM expressed his thoughts on the match. The player confessed it was intense, and his team had to focus for 90 minutes.

This is super intense. You have to focus for 90 minutes straight. I don't know. It's giving you a headache, and it gets boring at some point. "

BOOM also reveals how his team plans to play the game. Additionally, he confessed that they were waiting for a slip-up from Virtus Pro as his team was controlling the map.

"Since minute sixty or fifty, we just waiting Rosh and they're just sitting in base. That's all we're doing. We're waiting for a mistake and if they don't make a mistake, we're chilling."

BOOM on how they deal with Lina

Team Secret had a problem with the midlane Lina of Virtus Pro. As with many matches going late game, it features multiple Divine Rapiers. More importantly, Lina purchased this item, causing game 3 to go this long. In addition, Virtus Pro had multiple ways to save Lina from Secret's offenses. In his interview, BOOM reveals Team Secret's plan to deal with Lina.

"The first time we tried to jump him in their base, we forgot about Rubick's shard. We go all in on this Lina, into their base, and he gets lifted out of Disruptor's ulti, and we just like Pikachu face, and we all die. Then we just kept doing it. There's no other way to end the game. We just kept trying, and we just looked for mistake. That's all."

BOOM on the series' ending

Game 3 of the series ultimately ended when VP made a frustrated play. Secret was able to close the game from the mistake VP made impatiently. Reflecting on the play VP made, BOOM expressed his respect for his opponents. Additionally, he said that the VP would have a successful comeback if they waited a little longer.

" They could have sat around. It's a respectable play, it's like they're probably getting bored just like us, sitting in base. I respect it, but they probably could have had a better chance if they sit in base for 50 more minutes. Give us some time to make a mistake too, because we made a lot of mistakes as well in this game."

The fate of Team Secret at PGL Wallachia Season 1 hangs in the balance. They are one series away from making it to playoffs or getting eliminated from the tournament.
