DreamLeague Season 21 group stage has concluded. Eight teams have advanced to the next step in the tournament, as four teams got eliminated. There are two fan-favourite teams among the eliminated teams, causing fans to raise concerns about the team’s performance in the upcoming Internationals.

Group A Results

Group A was the unpredictable group at the tournament. It consisted of titans from different regions.

After the dust settled, Shopify Rebellion took the top seed within the group with three wins and two ties.

Team Liquid was one of the favorites to win DreamLeague Season 21. However, they got eliminated along with Talon Esports.

Despite fans calling them “The Kings Of DPC”, Team Liquid has had little success securing a trophy. The team always placed a runner-up spot in the Majors.

At the ESL Dota 2 Pro League, they placed second twice, once at DreamLeague Season 19 and once at The Riyadh Masters 2023.

At the DreamLeague 21, Team Liquid placed fifth in their groups with two ties and three losses, and thus, the team got eliminated.

Reflecting on Talon Esports' Performance

Talon Esports had inconsistent results throughout the 2022-2023 DPC Season. The team placed third at The Lima Major but secured a 7th-8th place finish at The Berlin Major and didn’t make it to The Bali Major.

In ESL One Pro League, the team failed to make a deep run in DreamLeague Season 19. However, they placed fourth in DreamLeague Season 20.

Moreover, they shook everyone at The Riyadh Masters 2023 by taking down Gaimin Gladiators to secure a third-place finish at the tournament.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t keep up their momentum in DreamLeague Season 21. The team had the same record as Team Liquid and became the second team to get eliminated.

Group B Results

Like Group A, Group B also had strong teams such as Team Spirit and Gaimin Gladiators. Those two teams currently dominate the scene. The group also has promising underdogs such as Evil Geniuses and OG.

After the aftermath of all the action, Team Spirit took the top spot in the group with four wins, no ties, and one loss. On the other hand, Quest Esports and Evil Geniuses were eliminated.

Reflecting on Quest Esports Performance

Quest Esports is a promising team from the Western European region. The team made waves in the professional scene by taking down the Titans in the region and climbing to Division I. They are also one of the favorites for the DreamLeague Season 21.

However, as the tournament unfolded, they had to play with a stand-in, as one of their players needed to secure a Visa to the US for the upcoming Internationals.

Unfortunately, Quest Esports struggled to get good results, as their full roster wasn’t available. They placed at the bottom of the groups with two ties and three losses and got eliminated.

Reflecting on Evil Geniuses’ performance

Evil Geniuses was the most unpredictable team in the tournament. They had promising results at The Lima and Berlin Majors. However, they didn’t make it past group stages at The Bali Major.

In ESL Dota 2 Pro League, the team finished DreamLeague Season 19 and Season 20 in a remarkable place, barely missing the top five. However, at the Riyadh Masters 2023, EG got eliminated in their first lower-bracket series.

In DreamLeague Season 21, they had the same results at Quest Esports and got eliminated.

Moving Forward

As the group stages of DreamLeague Season 21 concluded, the playoffs began. Playoffs are in a double-elimination bracket. The playoffs will end on September 24th with a best-of-five grand-final series.
