The surprise announcement of Dreamleague Season 21 caught every fan off guard as the tournament became the final pitstop for teams before The International 2023. The tournament hosted by ESL One features a million-dollar prize pool and most of the scene's current top teams. The following are the favourites amongst the twelve teams competing in the tournament.

Gaimin Gladiators

Gaimin Gladiators had a near-perfect season. The team's roster shuffle before the start of the 2022-2023 DPC Season is paying huge dividends. The team conquered every tournament they participated in the current season. They are the undefeated DPC Major Champions.

However, their same record attempt for ESL One Dota 2 Pro League was unsuccessful, as Team Spirit successfully stopped them at The Riyadh Masters 2023. Nevertheless, Gaimin Gladiators still are a strong team, as they recently won another tier 1 tournament, BetBoom Dacha, after their defeat at The Riyadh Masters.

Team Liquid

Team Liquid is the arch-nemesis of Gaimin Gladiators in the current season. They were the opponents of the Gladiators in all three majors. Despite their unsuccessful attempts to secure a Major Trophy, many consider Team Liquid as DPC Kings. Moreover, unlike their nemesis, they only had minor success in ESL One Pro League until the Riyadh Masters. Despite the team making a deep run in DreamLeague Season 19, Liquid faced elimination in the early stages of DreamLeague Season 20.

They again placed second at The Riyadh Masters 2023, falling short against Team Spirit. The team is trying to overcome the curse of placing second for the season, and DreamLeague Season 21 is the best tournament to beat it.

Team Spirit

The International 2021 Champions, Team Spirit, are slowly regaining the strength of their former glory. After The Internationals, they had several mixed results, only resulting in One Major win at The Arlington Major. However, the team continues to dominate their home region, Eastern Europe.

Moreover, the roster shuffle the team went through for the 2022-2023 DPC Season has only started bearing fruits. After their victorious run at The Riyadh Masters 2023, they got invited to BetBoom Dacha. Unfortunately, the team couldn’t attend because of VISA issues. DreamLeague Season 21 will be the team’s final testing ground before they continue to reclaim their throne at The Internationals 2023.

Quest Esports

Quest Esports is normally considered the underdog for the tournament. However, in their recent climb to the WEU Division I, they took down many fan favourites that stood in their way.  Moreover, the team secured their invite for The Riyadh Masters 2023 through the MENA qualifiers against Team Secret and Nigma Galaxy. They also placed fourth in the last Major of the 2022-2023 DPC Season, The Bali Major. Moreover, the team went through the titans in Western Europe for their ticket to The Internationals 2023. The team only need a trophy to solidify themselves as one of the top teams in the scene, and DreamLeague Season 21 is the perfect opportunity for them.

ESL One has yet to state whether DreamLeague Season 21 will play a part in next year's Riyadh Masters. The tournament will officially start tomorrow. The aforementioned teams are our favourites. You can also let us know your favourites by commenting under the post.
