After some soul-crushing defeats in the 2022-23 DPC season, the mixed results, it is needless to say OG is struggling. They failed to qualify for The International for the first time since the establishment.  However, as the DreamLeague Season 21 is on the horizon, gathering what they had left, the team made a bold move for the tournament. They acquired another legendary offlaner, Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov, from Nigma Galaxy as a loan, for the uphill battles they will be facing in DreamLeague. MC will be taking over Dmitry "DM" Dorokhin’s position on the team. DM is moved to OG’s inactive roster.

A Step Into The Right Direction?

DreamLeague is one of the top-tier tournaments, which is not a part of Valve’s official DPC tournaments. Recently, as Valve announced they will end the DPC, ESL One Dota 2 Pro Circuit is the favourite to overtake the place.

As DreamLeague is currently a high-stakes tournament, OG did not hesitate in making their decision. Doing so, they might also accidentally have started the roster shuffle season, which always comes after The Internationals. Since the start of the 2022-2023 DPC Season, OG has shown several inconsistencies in their results and the roster. The team had switched their hard support and offlaner multiple times.

Not the First Time

DreamLeague Season 21 is not the first time Mind Control joined OG. In the Berlin Major, he briefly stood in for them. Back then, with him and Kartik “Kitrak” Rathi as standins, the team achieved stellar results. They defeated Team Liquid during Liquid’s peak. However, they were eliminated by Evil Geniuses, securing a 5th-6th place finish. MC proved he is still one of the strongest offlaners in his first debut with the team.

Mind Control also had a struggling year with his team, Nigma Galaxy. Unlike OG, Nigma Galaxy couldn’t hold their Division I spot and frequently got relegated to Division II. Nevertheless, a brief stint with OG was all it took to remind fans MC still have what it takes to perform in the big leagues. MC has a versatile pool, making him the right player for any type of innovative strategic game plan OG can brainstorm.

OG now has both Mind Control and Sébastien "Ceb" Debs on the team. They suddenly are a team to watch out for in DreamLeague Season 21. This bold move could restore OG to its former glory, and fans eagerly wait to witness the rise of OG again.
