Blast Premier Spring Groups Day 4 Recap

On day 4 of the Blast Premier Spring Groups, we saw Faze Clan take on OG for a spot at the Grand Finals for Group B, while Liquid took on their North American brethren Complexity for a chance at survival in the lower bracket.

Game 1: Faze vs OG

Map 1 took us to Mirage, where after a first few good rounds by OG, Faze took over the first half, especially after an amazing 1v2 clutch from ropz in round 5, ending the half 10-5 in favor of Faze. The T side of OG wasn’t any better, only managing to get 2 rounds, as Faze swept them in a 16-7 victory. Even though Twistzz had more kills in this map (23), the highest rated player was ropz, who managed 22 kills, with a 1.61 rating.

OG bounced back in Map 2: Ancient, where they landed a decent T side at 6-9. F1KU also managed to get a knife kill on broky. On their CT side, however, they showed their prowess on their map pick, as they only allowed Faze to get 2 rounds in this half, winning the game 16-11. Twistzz ended this map with a monstrous 30 kills, while es3tag, who is standing in for rain, only managed a measly 8 kills.

The first Grand Finalists for Group B was decided on Inferno, where Faze swept the floor with OG, defeating them 16-4. Broky had 13 AWP kills in this map, out of a total of 21, and even es3tag managed to get 16, doubling his kill count from the last map.

Game 2: Liquid vs Complexity

Map 1 was Anubis, picked by Complexity, where they were totally dominated by Liquid. Complexity only managed 2 rounds on their T side, and it was their total round wins for the entire game, as Liquid won 16-2, with NAF and oSee doing the bulk of the heavy lifting with 21 and 18 kills respectively. While on the Complexity side, only floppy was able to break into the double digits.

Liquid had picked Overpass for Map 2, where Complexity did put up a bit of a fight. Managing a 6-9 T side, they managed to get another 6 rounds in their CT half. However, it wasn’t enough as they conceded a full pistol buy round from Liquid in round 28, where some important Deagle kills from EliGE and oSee (and a terrific flash from YEKINDAR) helped Liquid win the round and the game 16-12. EliGE and YEKINDAR put on quite a show for the Liquid fans as they both netted 26 and 25 kills respectively, with NAF not trailing too far behind with 22.

This closes Day 4 of the Blast Premier Spring Groups.
