After taking down LGD Gaming in the BetBoom Dacha Dubai group stage, Falcon's offlaner Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf had a quick interview to discuss the meta in Dota 2, an unlikely source of inspiration for his item build, and how his team recovered from a loss.

BetBoom Dacha Dubai is the first major LAN of the 2024 Dota 2 year, featuring 12 of the best teams in the world competing for their slice of the one million dollar prize pool.

Falcons have had an uneven performance in the tournament, drawing against LGD but losing 2-0 when facing Team Liquid. Game two of that series was particularly one-sided.

ATF explained how the team recovered after a demoralizing loss, "We had some issues in our games. In our first game we had a very high chance of winning and then we just played a bit poorly and second game it was a bit of a draft issue. We watched replays and we learned and we talked so we're ready today."

The interviewer proceeded to ask ATF what a 2000 MMR player can do in the game and he said that there are a lot of options now due to the map size.

Ammar continued by stating that he watches videos and clips of low-MMR players and learns from them, " For example this revenant brooch Divine Rapier, I saw someone do it and I'm like "it's a genius idea" and I just did it the first time, I didn't even practice it or something, I just did it."

Dota 2 patch 7.35b has no surprises for pro players

The biggest winners in Dota 2 patch 7.35 They are all stronger now, but are they worth mastering?

The current gameplay patch was released in December 2023 and pros have figured out the meta.

Mage Slayer and Shiva's Guard are the items of the patch, while Lion with Aghanim's Shard and Platemail dominate the battlefield.

It's unlikely that Valve will release a patch before Valentine's Day. ATF stated that the current patch has no surprises for his team.

"We have a very clear understanding of heroes and what meta and what people like and what people fear from us. So it's almost clear, not sure if there's anything to change much right now.""

It will be interesting to see how the game develops in the future and if we will have the current map in the next major LAN event.
