The opening game of VCT Pacific featured The Korean Kings, DRX taking on Japan's best in the Zeta Division. In the one-sided affair, DRX completely dominated Zeta and secured their first victory at the event. During the post-match interview, Strafe interviewed DRX's Rb about the team's potential, performance, and more.

Q. Congratulations on your win, Was that a good start to your VCT Pacific Journey?

DRX Rb: "We did not practice enough before the event, and I was worried about our performance. But we clicked when we got on the server, and it all worked well."

Q. Was the team satisfied with the LOCK//IN run?

DRX Rb: "For VCT LOCK//IN, I anticipated we would reach the finals at the very least. Unfortunately, we got knocked out in the semifinals in the same fashion as Valorant Champions, where we lost the first two maps and were nearly swept. Personally, I am a little bit sad about it, but it was a good run."

Q. DRX has been a strong team, but they struggle to convert the strategic prowess into an International Trophy. What do you think the team needs to secure that top place?

DRX Rb: "Personally I actually think we have everything we need to win in our team to win an International event . Its just the matter of making less mistakes individually and team-wide and that is the reason we are losing these game. The resources are there, we just need to win."

Q. You have been improving a lot. What is the driving force behind your improvement at such an amazing rate?

DRX Rb: "To recap why I was able to succeed and get better at this game is because I  enjoy the game so much. I put in time for personal practice and improve my agent pool. Only reason why I am able to improve at this rate."

Q. DRX has been part of multiple comebacks, How do you guys handle high-pressure situations?

DRX Rb: " We have multiple experiences with this (comebacks) not just internationally but Domestically, In VCT Challengers Korea. When it comes to these pressured and reverse-sweep situations, we always tell ourselves to just think about the next map. We just think about how we can prepare for the next map more meticulously and that's how we pull through."

Q. Do you have a preferred role/agent you want to play?

DRX Rb: "Actually, I don't think I have a preference, But if I have to pick a role, I would like to play an agent that will counter my opponents' composition."

Q. Does the familiar stage and crowd give you a home-ground advantage?

DRX Rb: "It does mean a lot that this (VCT Pacific) is held in South Korea where we live obviously, the stage, the location are all the places we have been to multiple times over the last season, during the Valorant Challengers Korea. I would say that it doesn't give us an advantage but it also feels very homey because it's so familiar to us."

Q. Biggest competition for DRX?

DRX Rb: "Originally, I would've said Gen.G and Talon. But Gen.G recently changed their roster so I am not so sure about them. So Talon will be our biggest challenge."

DRX is currently the strongest team in the VCT Pacific. They are the top contenders for the inaugural VCT Pacific title. After the strong start, DRX will face Global Esports in the second week of VCT Pacific. Rb and Squad will be ready to continue their winning parade and finish the tournament in style.
