BLEED’s star player Jacob “yay” Whitaker has been under fire recently, after his former BLEED IGL made a comment on him.

Yesterday, former Disguised member and teammate of yay Amgalan “Genghsta” Nemekhbayar, posted a series of tweets starting with a video titled ‘My Favorites DSG moment’, accusing yay of being a toxic teammate and trying to bribe their coach to bench the former.

Let’s dive into the series of events leading up to these and how the community responded to the accusation and the video posted.

Disguised and Yay:

To the uninitiated and new fans of VALORANT Esports, yay is a North American professional who rose to popularity during 2022 along with Optic Gaming. He was arguably the best player heading into the new VALORANT ecosystem.

Choosing to go to Cloud9, yay parted with them (Cloud9) after a single tournament. He was without a team for much of early 2023, only later finding himself a spot on Disguised Toast’s Valorant Challengers team.

Genghsta, along with Steel were both initially part of the DSG roster. The team's performance, however, significantly declined shortly after yay joined. Steel was then removed from the roster and Exalt was brought back.

The change only seemed to make things worse as DSG looked even more horrible. After their run ended, yay made a tweet commenting on the team’s performance, calling the players out. The tweet led to people hating on the DSG squadmates.

Yay to BLEED:

After the disappointing 2023, yay found himself a new home in Singaporean BLEED, who signed the North American superstar for big bucks.

BLEED’s performance, however, was disappointing. The organization soon made a roster change. The change was an attempt to bring stability to the struggling squad.

After the roster move, Ngô "crazyguy" Anh former BLEED IGL and one of the benched members made a post on Facebook about the move.

In the post, CÔNG ANH NGÔ talks about the decision and the circumstances leading to his departure, claiming a change in atmosphere with the current BLEED.

BLEED’s struggles continued, and two days ago, crazyguy made another post about yay’s underperformance. Yay replied to the accusations.

Genghsta Accusations and community reaction

Yesterday, Genghsta made a series of tweets calling out yay’s “if it happened in any other profession/team that person would instantly be kicked/fired the first time, let alone multiple other times.” comment.

The tweet showcases a video of one of the rounds from their DSG days underscoring yay’s toxicity. Additionally, screenshot of the chat between him and coach Ocean, accusing yay of bribing the coach to bench Genghsta.

In the following tweets, Genghsta called yay ‘difficult to play with’. Yay hasn’t responded to the accusation as of now and will likely not.

But the Genghsta’s tweet has been met with negative backlash, especially the video that leaks the internal comms of DSG.

FNS, a former teammate of yay and a popular North American streamer now, talked about the whole ordeal. He also addressed the questions from his chat.

Steel, a notable CS and VALORANT personality also gave his opinion on the matter, supporting his former teammate.

Zellsis, the reigning VCT Masters Madrid Champion and current Sentinels player came in support of his former C9 teammate.

Multiple more community members have also expressed their opinion on the controversy. Yay, BLEED or DSG are yet to make an official statement regarding the accusations
