In just a few short hours, VCT Masters: Tokyo will commence and the best Valorant players in the world will converge to battle for the international crown. Previously, we touched on all the teams attending. We spoke on their strengths, their weaknesses, who they are. Now, we will highlight standout individuals, who with their raw potential, can change the tides of the battle.

The Players

Fnatic- Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov

Golden child of the war-machine, “Chronicle” has swiftly proven his value since joining Fnatic’s lineup at the end of 2022. His mechanical prowess and swift decision-making have proven to be incredible time and again, however, his true talent lies in his flexibility and consistency of performance. Having displayed the potential and ability to play agents from any of the four agent classes, “Chronicle” is a key piece of Fnatic that allows the rosters massive degree of flexibility when it comes to meta compositions whilst maintaining their standard performance level.

Team Liquid- Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel

Once a member of the dastardly trio on Guild, “Sayf” has ascended to reach his great potential on Liquid. When given picks such as Jett for example, he has shown himself to be a force to be reckoned with all on his own and is often an opponent that teams personally name when speaking of Liquid’s fearsome firepower. Under any circumstances, pray you never see him on an OP or rifle if you’re cheering for the opposing team.

FUT Esports- Ata “ATA KAPTAN” Tan

FUT have swiftly grown into an incredible force on the EMEA stage. Their first true test, however, comes in the form of the Tokyo stage. Whilst not the most obvious star on the roster, “ATA KAPTAN” is undoubtedly the performance bedrock for the roster. In terms of consistency, clutch potential, and flexibility, he sets the standard for FUT. An absolute beast of a performer on flex when he’s on his game, “ATA KAPTAN” silently racks up the kills and the carry with far less flash than one would expect from a player of his caliber.

Natus Vincere- Mehmet “cNed” İpek

The Turkish Valorant scene is spoken about with great reverence. Amongst them, is the Turkish Prodigy, “cNed”. Few still speak about this narratively, but he comes into this tournament in small company as one of the few Champions winners to attend Tokyo. In 2021 he was feared as a deity of death with the OP. In 2022, he faded off. And now, he has returned with NA’VI. Few wield the OP quite like he does and with signature aggression and tempo. Moreover, he forges a new style for himself on agents such as Yoru. Watch out for this one.

In the next part, we cross oceans, where another four individuals will receive the shimmering spotlight.
