A few hours after The Lima Major, Valve introduced a new patch to Dota 2 with the promised new hero, Muerta.  Valve also introduced patch 7.32e, featuring a balance game before the start of the DPC Spring Tour.

The current patch, Patch 7.32, was introduced in August of 2022. It’s been in effect for seven months, making it the lengthiest patch in Dota 2 history. Released in November of 2022, Patch 7.32d saw the likes of Lina, Riki, Nature’s Prophet and Death Prophet getting picked the most due to their abilities. Fans dubbed them IMBA heroes. Fans also nicknamed The Lima Major, The Lina Major because every team was contesting Lina.

Muerta’s Lore

The new hero, Muerta, is a Carry, Nuker, and Disabler.  Muerta wields Mercy and Grace, the twin ethereal pistol. The hero’s lore told a story of a girl, Celeste, in a town raided by bandits. To return the town’s stolen grain, Celeste challenged the bandit king, Zell. Expecting it would be a fair fight, Celeste bravely went into the duel, but the bandit king was not in for a fair fight. Celeste lost the duel, her life taken, as she woke up in an unfamiliar place. Upon her wake, she met Death. The two played a game for Celeste’s soul, and Celeste won. For her prize, Celeste asked for the guns used by Death thyself to seek vengeance. The cold and ruthless world killed Celeste. The world owes a debt to Celeste. And Muerta will collect.

Muerta’s Abilities

The first ability of Muerta is “Dead Shot”. The ability enables Muerta to fire a trick shot at an enemy unit or tree. When fired, it damages and briefly slows before ricocheting in the targeted direction.  The ricochet deals damage to all the units it passes through. Heroes hit by the ricochet are feared away from the impact.

The Calling is the second ability of Muerta. Its summons 4 revenant spirits that circle slowly at the targeted location. Enemies in the circle are slowed and have reduced attack speed. It also deals damage and silences the enemies if they pass through them.

Muerta’s third ability Gunslinger is a passive ability allowing Muerta's attacks to have a chance at firing a second shot at another target which prioritises Heroes.

Muerta’s ultimate ability is called Pierce The Veil. This ability allows Muerta to transform and become immune to physical damage. All of her attack damage also becomes magical damage. She also gained bonus attack damage and phased movement. Muerta can also attack ethereal units but deals no damage to targets under Magic Immunity.

Along with the new hero, Dead Reckoning, a mini-event also comes with the update. Valve also said that Patch 7.33 will come in late April.
