After months of anticipation, the new Dota patch 7.32e was released last night. However, a lot of fans have been left feeling short changed after the only major update was the release of brand new hero Muerta.

It’s worth noting that this patch is not the 7.33 gameplay update that many people were expecting. There are no map changes, no new neutral creeps and no changes to outposts or Roshan. That is still yet to come. This makes 7.32 the longest patch in Dota 2 history and it’s safe to say that fans are ready for something new.

Dota Patch 7.32e: New Hero But Not What We Asked For

Muerta: A Brand New Hero for Dota Patch 7.32e

Muerta was officially announced during the last day of The International 11 back in October. With the cryptic release date of “early 2023”, fans were initially expecting a January update (which even then would have been a huge departure from the timings of previous post TI patches). But all that is in the past as she’s here now!

It seems that a lot of the leaks for Dota patch 7.32e were accurate. This squishy intelligence carry hero holds the carry, nuker and disabler labels. Her abilities range from a ricocheting trickshot to full physical damage immunity for her ult. That could mean a full 6 seconds of magical and physical damage immunity if she buys BKB. And let’s face it, she definitely will.

Other updates

The rest of Dota patch 7.32e is exactly what you might expect from a minor mid season update, not what was hinted at when the patch release was announced. The anticipated Lina nerf is there, along with huge nerfs to zoo heroes including Nature’s Prophet, Broodmother and Enigma. The spring updates for Dota Plus subscribers include new quests and skins (including an IO skin!).

There are several interesting item updates too:

  • Charges on Boots of Bearing have been removed.
  • Cost of a Divine Rapier has been reduced.
  • Mana cost for Force Staffs and Hurricane Pikes has increased.
  • Decreased channel time for Meteor Hammer.

So when is patch 7.33?

Valve appears, for once, to have anticipated that this patch would be mostly unwelcome. Fans have been expecting a huge game changing patch for a very long time and many on Reddit and Twitter have threatened to quit the game over the lack of updates.

They confirmed in their blog posted alongside the Dota patch 7.32e that the “ambitious” patch 7.33 is currently pegged for release in April. They also acknowledged that it should have been ready in time for Muerta’s release, stating “The Dead Reckoning Update has a lot of features we’re really proud of — a new hero, item sets, a mini-game. But we get it. Many of you were hoping for Patch 7.33”.

Let’s hope this time they can stick to their word and release 7.33 very soon!
