Vitality To Face Team Spirit in BLAST Rivals Fall Semifinals

The quarterfinals of BLAST Rivals Fall 2025 have given fans a matchup that hasn’t come around often in 2025. Team Vitality will face Team Spirit at the AsiaWorld-Arena in Hong Kong, and it’s only the fourth time these two European giants have met this year. Their last encounter dates back to May, during BLAST Rivals Season 1, where both teams were in much sharper form. Fast forward six months, and neither side enters this clash with much momentum.

Spirit’s Spark Has Dimmed

Team Spirit, once seen as the only team able to rival Vitality in 2025, are stuck in what looks like their worst stretch of results since adding donk and sh1ro. Over the past three months, they’ve barely made it past the early stages of major events. Their 7th-8th elimination at BLAST Open Fall 2025’s Closed Qualifier by G2 Esport raised eyebrows, but the pattern continued – yet another early exit at ESL Pro League Season 22 against FaZe Clan, followed by disappointment at IEM Chengdu, where The MongolZ sent them packing again.

These weren’t losses to unstoppable teams; all three opponents were also struggling rosters going through a rough patch. On paper, Spirit should have been the favorites in each case. But as the saying goes, 'games aren’t won on paper'. For a team built around donk – arguably the best mechanical player in CS2 – such results are a far cry from their expected dominance.

This time, they held their ground and advanced, with donk doing his best to drag them forward. tN1R’s solid performance provided a much-needed spark, but sh1ro and zweih’s continued inconsistency remains a big issue. If Spirit are to have a chance against Vitality, it’ll take more than just one man's brilliance to pull them through.

Vitality’s “Rough Patch” Is Still Elite

Team Vitality’s struggles look tame compared to Spirit’s, but expectations are always higher for the Golden Hornets. A team that many have hailed as the best team of 2025 has found itself looking mortal lately. Their most recent heartbreak came in the IEM Chengdu finals, where FURIA dismantled them 3-0, a result that stunned everyone.

Even in the group stage of BLAST Rivals Fall 2025, Vitality showed cracks. Though they beat TYLOO in their opener, the fact that the Chinese side managed to steal a map raised questions about the team’s focus. The real concern, however, came when FURIA once again got the better of them in the winner’s match, denying Vitality an early semifinal berth.

Last time in Chengdu, mezii was often cited as the team’s weak link, but the British rifler has turned things around, showing much steadier performances. The problem now lies with ropz and flameZ, whose form seems to fluctuate from match to match. When both are on, Vitality play near perfection. When they’re not, the system falters.

Still, even with these inconsistencies, Vitality’s baseline remains high. Their coordinated approach, experience in big matches, and leadership under apEX give them a clear structural edge over Spirit heading into this clash.
