Clan Tags Return to CS2 Alongside Silent Reloads
Valve has brought back a familiar feature from the CS:GO days. The Counter-Strike 2 update released on Tuesday, September 22, allows players to use Clan Tags again, while also introducing silent reloads and several gameplay and customization changes.
Clan Tags Return to Counter-Strike 2
Players who are members of a Steam Community Group can once again select a Clan Tag to display alongside their name. The feature was a popular way for teams, communities, and groups of friends to represent themselves in CS:GO and has now officially returned to CS2.
How to Add a Clan Tag in CS2
To use a Clan Tag, players first need to be part of a Steam Community Group. From there, the desired tag can be selected through the Player Profile inside CS2.

Silent Reloads Come to CS2
The biggest gameplay addition gives players the option to reload without making any sound. Instead of tapping the reload key, players can press and hold it to perform a silent reload. There is a trade-off for staying quiet: silent reloads are slower than regular reloads.
Valve did not specify exactly how much additional time the action takes. Unscoping a scoped weapon is also now silent, removing another audio cue that could give away a player's actions or position.
Other Changes in the Update
- Valve improved visual clarity across the game and increased the fidelity of bullet impact decals.
- The total grenade limit now also restricts how many grenades a player can purchase during a round.
- Stickers can now be applied to the C4.
- The new Starjunk 95, Industrial Sunset Memories Music Kit is now available in the store in standard and StatTrak versions.
- Music volume can now be configured separately for each game mode.
- Halftime scoreboard statistics now fully reflect the results of the previous round.
- Valve fixed a case that allowed players to avoid a kick penalty.
- Chickens can now take damage from the Zeus x27.
The update also introduces a plethora of other changes, including Premier Map Selection, Crosshair, and a New Game Mode: Rush.
