Perfect World has announced the venues in which the Shanghai Major will take place from November 30-December 15.

The Major Opening and Elimination stages will feature a live audience

While the RMRs are still held behind closed doors, the Major Opening and Elimination stages will take place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, which is said to hold around 5,000 fans according to HLTV.

This is a rare occurrence as most first stages for Counter-Strike Majors were previously held without an audience, yet, the first of its kind event in China looks promising as the game’s popularity continues to rise in the region.

Additionally, SPD Bank Oriental Sports Center will open its doors for the Major Playoffs with a capacity of 18,000 spectators. This makes it the most popular Counter-Strike event in China after IEM Chengdu and CS Asia Championships tournaments received a decent number of live audiences.

The main venue for the SPD Bank Oriental Sports Center also hosted various sports events including the 14th World Aquatics Championships, 2015 World Figure Skating Championships as well as esports events, namely League of Legends’ 2016 Mid-Season invitational and 2017 World Championship Semifinals.

Perfect World Shanghai Major Schedule

  • Opening stage: November 30th - December 3rd
  • Elimination stage: December 5th - December 8th
  • Major Playoffs: December 12th - December 15th
