Astralis Sign siuhy and cmtry, Ending Danish-Majority Era in CS2

Astralis have officially signed Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek and Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov, completing their Counter-Strike 2 roster just days after benching Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard.

The move marks a historic change for the four-time Major champions. For the first time, Astralis will field a lineup without a Danish majority, with Victor "Staehr" Staehr now the organization's only Danish starter.

siuhy Takes Over as IGL, cmtry Switches to Rifler

siuhy arrives as Astralis' new in-game leader after leaving Team Liquid earlier this month. The Polish captain was benched in July following a difficult spell with the North American organization, which struggled to deliver consistent results during his tenure.

Before joining Liquid, siuhy established himself as one of the scene's promising IGLs, leading GamerLegion to the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 final and later winning trophies with MOUZ.

For cmtry, the transfer brings a different challenge. The Ukrainian AWPer was recently replaced by Álvaro "SunPayus" García at FUT Esports, but will now transition to a rifling role at Astralis, leaving Love "phzy" Smidebrant as the team's primary AWPer.

Interestingly, cmtry was part of the FUT lineup that defeated Astralis in the PGL Bucharest 2026 grand final, where he also earned the tournament's MVP award.

Astralis' New CS2 Roster and Debut

The changes follow a turbulent week for Astralis. HooXi and jabbi were benched on October 9 after contract extension negotiations failed, despite the team having just won Stake Ranked Episode 4 and secured a place at the upcoming PGL Major Singapore.

The new roster consists of:

• Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek (IGL)
• Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov
• Victor "Staehr" Staehr
• Love "phzy" Smidebrant
• Gytis "ryu" Glušauskas
• Filip "NEO" Kubski (Coach)

There will be little time for the newcomers to settle in. Astralis are scheduled to face Sashi on October 14 at 12:00 UTC in their opening match of Stake Pulse Beat III.
