What to Expect from PGL Masters Bucharest 2026?
With the VRS cutoff for the PGL Major Singapore 2026 scheduled for November 2, PGL Masters Bucharest could have a major impact on which teams receive invitations to the last CS2 Major of the year.
The tournament concludes just two days before that deadline, making it one of the final opportunities for teams to improve their rankings. There are no direct Major qualification spots on offer, but results in Bucharest could make a difference for teams still fighting to secure an invitation.
Team Vitality will also face an unusual challenge. The team will compete without in-game leader Dan "apEX" Madesclaire, who is set to miss the tournament due to the birth of his child. Justinas "jL" Lekavicius will stand in, giving Vitality a different lineup heading into the final stretch before the Major.
Another team worth watching is Aurora Gaming. The organization won PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 after defeating Legacy 3-2 in the Grand Final, but it returns with a revamped international roster featuring players such as Jimpphat and kyxsan alongside its established Turkish core.
Legacy will have an opportunity to improve on last year's runner-up finish, while the presence of Spirit, MOUZ, FURIA, G2 and Natus Vincere adds further competition to an already strong field.
For the teams near the Major qualification cutoff, however, a successful week in Bucharest could be worth much more than the tournament's prize money.
