When Valve added a new restriction regarding the region change to the VRS rulebook, s1mple and BC.Game were the biggest names that were disqualified from the upcoming CS2 Singapore Major 2026.

Valve later clarified in a statement provided to HLTV that the affected organizations can contact the developers to find an alternate solution for Major qualification.

Earlier today, Valve updated its “tournament operation exception list” on the VRS GitHub repository to include an exception for BC.Game, allowing them to qualify for the Singapore Major via the Asia VRS leaderboard.

This change not only reignites the hope for s1mple and co. but almost guarantees their spot at the Singapore Major, as they have already overtaken TYLOO as the #1 seed on the Asia VRS leaderboard.

Valve Reacted to Sashi’s Exploit

After the news of the new ruling spread through the community, Tom J. Lemke, the co-founder of BIG and MOUZ, tweeted that Sashi’s roster move that involved dual citizenship of one of their players is what prompted Valve to take action.

This also explains why BC.Game was exempted from the ruling, as they had secured the Mongolian duo a while ago without the intention of switching regions.

And while they took advantage of an available ruling, it was only the asap signing that changed the region. Essentially, it cannot be said with certainty if BC.Game had always intended to switch regions.

Moreover, Valve had already allowed BC.Game to qualify for the Major by competing in the European VRS leaderboard.

BC.Game's CEO implored Valve to reconsider the Asia regional assignment for the team, as the curerent core of the roster (asap, senzu and mzinho) have competed at the highest level of Asian Counter-Strike.

As per Ako’s statement, they will compete in Asia but are willing to start with 0 VRS points and play through the 3 weeks to earn enough points to get a Major invitation.

The new exception now, however, allows BC.Game to continue as they were before the new amendment, and qualify for the Major as Asia’s first seed.

Sashi and WW team, on the other hand, will not get the same exception and will definitely miss out on the Major.
