In a recent tweet by NACL caster @smrtalia, it was revealed that there will be no live broadcast for the NACL qualifiers. Additionally, all unofficial broadcasts, including co-streaming, have been banned due to scheduling conflicts with LCS games. This comes as a disappointment to fans and content creators alike. Since many were eager to follow the exciting moments of the qualifiers.

Co-streaming Restrictions Explained

The disappointment stems from the restriction on co-streaming. Riot has made it clear that there should be no overlap with LCS in any capacity during live-streaming of the qualifiers. This includes the Open Qualifiers and Swiss rounds scheduled for the upcoming weekend. The caster issued an apology for the earlier miscommunication. Acknowledging the oversight in assessing the impact of LCS moving to weekends on scheduling.

VODs as an Alternative

To address the limitations imposed on live broadcasts and co-streaming, NACL organizers are working with observers to record VODs (Video on Demand) of all the games post-Swiss rounds. These VODs will be uploaded to a YouTube channel. Thus allowing content creators to produce their own content during the week following the games. This does not replace the live experience in any way. But it might provide an alternative for fans and creators to engage with the content.

However, fans were quick to respond to this decision by Riot Games. With mostly negative feedback, it is obvious that the community is not happy with these changes.

Official Coverage Announcement

NACL is in the process of finalizing details for their official coverage. An announcement is planned for later in the week, outlining what the official coverage will look like and what the community can expect from Rally Cry in terms of Qualifiers coverage and content. This move is aimed at serving the community in the best way possible, given the scheduling constraints.

As we approach the NACL qualifiers, fans and content creators grapple with mixed feelings due to the limitations imposed on live broadcasts and co-streaming. These unforeseen restrictions have dampened the community's initial excitement, despite the solace provided by the availability of VODs and the promise of official coverage. Will the alternative content avenues be enough to compensate for the absence of live broadcasts and co-streaming?
