K/DA released the video for "NEVER GOING BACK" on Tuesday (October 27), featuring MIYEON and SOYEON of i-dle on vocals. The new visualizer continues the rollout of music from the virtual League of Legends group, which returned in October after nearly six years without new music.
Who Sings NEVER GOING BACK by K/DA?
MIYEON and SOYEON once again voice Ahri and Akali, respectively, as they have since K/DA debuted with "POP/STARS" in 2018. Unlike "FIRESTARTER," which features four singers, "NEVER GOING BACK" is performed exclusively by the two i-dle members.
The lyrics focus on moving forward without regrets, with references to speed, pressure, and pushing past limits. The idea of never looking back runs throughout the track, alongside lines about confidence and independence.
According to the credits released by Riot, the song was written by Aejin Kwon and Sébastien Najand, with lyrics by Kwon and production by Najand. Tom Norris handled mixing, Dale Becker was responsible for mastering, and Frequency provided additional vocal production.
What's Next on K/DA's 2026 Release Schedule?
The visualizer follows the "FIRESTARTER" music video, released on October 18, and the "WATCH ME" lyric video, released on October 23 featuring Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb. All three songs are part of the four-track EP that marked K/DA's comeback.
Riot Games' release schedule lists two more dates for the "GIRLS (w/ DJ Sona)" video, along with a K/DA performance at Worlds 2026:
- November 3: early premiere of the "GIRLS (w/ DJ Sona)" video on Spotify.
- November 5: general release of the "GIRLS (w/ DJ Sona)" video.
- November 14: K/DA will perform during the opening ceremony for the Worlds 2026 final at Barclays Center in New York City.
"GIRLS (w/ DJ Sona)" features Sophie Powers, Sorana, and Royal & The Serpent, alongside DJ Sona, a character from the League of Legends universe. The song, like the rest of the EP, is already available to stream. The dates above refer to the upcoming videos and the group's performance at Worlds.
Riot Games Also Brought Back HEARTSTEEL and True Damage in 2026
K/DA's comeback is part of a series of music projects from Riot Games this year. In September, HEARTSTEEL released "Live My Life", its second single since debuting in 2023. Meanwhile, True Damage returned with "Know My Name", the official Worlds 2026 anthem. Pentakill also contributed to an orchestral version of the Worlds theme, but has not announced a new album or standalone single.
Beyond the confirmed comebacks, rumors have surfaced about a possible new group called FIRST BLOOD. The rumored lineup would include Diana, LeBlanc, Morgana, Samira, and Zyra, with a potential debut in November. Riot Games has not confirmed the group's existence or the details circulating on social media.
