The Group Stage for the Dota 2 event at the Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC 2026) is over, and we have the first round of eliminations before the Survival Stage begins on July 14, with twelve teams fighting for four slots.

Let's take a look at which teams were eliminated, which ones advanced to the second stage, and the schedule for the matchups already set in the Survival Stage bracket.

EWC 2026: Group Stage Results

Four groups of six teams battled for almost a week, and now we have our first results: Team Falcons, Nigma Galaxy, PVISION, and Team Yandex were seeded directly into the Playoffs after claiming first place in their respective groups.

Eight teams were eliminated on the Group Stage.

On the other side of the standings, GamerLegion, Poor Rangers, Level UP, L1 TEAM, REKONIX, Team Nemesis, OG, and IC x Insanity were eliminated after finishing fifth and sixth in their respective groups.

EWC 2026: Survival Stage Schedule

The remaining teams from each group (second, third, and fourth place) were seeded into the Survival Stage, with the second-place teams from each group receiving an advantage and needing to win only one matchup to secure a Playoffs spot.

The third-place and fourth-place teams from each group were seeded by crossing groups, meaning the third-place team from one group would face the fourth-place team from a different group.

These are the matchups for the Survival Stage on the Esports World Cup 2026.

Now let's check the Survival Stage schedule. You should adjust the time zone for your country, as we list the schedule using GMT.

Teams that succeed in getting past the Survival Stage will face the winners of each group, who were seeded directly into the Quarterfinals of the Playoffs on July 16 and July 17.

Interesting Matchups

The Survival Stage will cut the field of 12 teams by 66%, with only the four strongest contestants advancing to the Playoffs. Let's take a look at the most exciting matchups of the second stage of EWC 2026.

Team Liquid vs. Xtreme Gaming

The first matchup on the opening day is already a promising battle, with Team Liquid facing Xtreme Gaming to determine who will face Team Spirit in the elimination round of the Survival Stage.

Team Liquid might have the hardest run of the Survival Stage.

Team Liquid has an overwhelming advantage in terms of head-to-head history and should come out victorious unless the pressure of representing their region pushes Xtreme Gaming to perform beyond their limits.

LGD Gaming vs. MOUZ

These two teams are in very different moments of their journey. While LGD Gaming recovered from a "near-death" situation after being left by Heroic, MOUZ lost their hard support and has yet to show signs of recovery.

LGD Gaming has the advantage in terms of recent performances.

If we take both teams' recent performances into consideration, LGD Gaming has the advantage, with six victories in their last 10 games, while MOUZ managed only two wins in their last 10 matches.

Closing Thoughts

The Esports World Cup 2026 is turning out to be a very entertaining tournament, and the Survival Stage will add another layer of pressure, where we will see teams shine and perhaps surprise everyone with unexpected victories.
