As the VCT Pacific season reaches its climactic final stage, the top 3 teams assemble to vie for the coveted title of Pacific Champions. With the prestigious SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium set to host the event, the atmosphere is electric with anticipation. The stage is set for an epic showdown as Paper Rex, DRX, and Gen.G battle for glory in the VCT Pacific League Stage 2 Finals.

Paper Rex vs DRX

July 20th | 5pm KST | 1am PDT | 10am CET

The lower bracket final will feature reigning Pacific Champions, Paper Rex, clashing with the formidable Korean powerhouse, DRX.

Despite experiencing a dip in form recently, DRX has shown remarkable resilience. The team particularly struggled after parting ways with former IGL Kim "stax" Gu-taek.  Their only group stage losses were to Paper Rex and Rex Regum Qeon. And their sole playoff defeat came against Gen.G.

Current IGL Kim "MaKo" Myeong-kwan has adapted well to his new role, leading the team effectively. With Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul performing exceptionally, DRX is eager to avenge their earlier loss to Paper Rex and secure a spot in the Grand Finals.

Entering the tournament as the reigning Pacific Champions, Paper Rex's performance in Stage 2 has reaffirmed their dominance. With only one group stage loss to Team Secret and a single playoffs defeat to Gen.G, Paper Rex remains a formidable force.

Khalish "d4v41" Rusyaidee's consistent reliability and Wang "Jinggg" Jie’s outstanding performances make Paper Rex a team to be reckoned with. Underestimating them could prove to be a fatal mistake for their opponents.

Given Paper Rex's dominance and experience, they are our pick to win this matchup.

The Grand Finals Awaits

July 21st | 5pm KST | 1am PDT | 10am CET

The winner of this intense matchup will advance to face Gen.G in the Grand Finals. Where the title of VCT Pacific Stage 2 Champions will be at stake.

Gen.G: The Final Boss

Gen.G entered the tournament as clear favorites, having recently secured victory at VCT Masters Shanghai - the first international trophy for the Pacific region. Despite a rocky start in the group stage, where they won 6 out of 10 games, they have emerged revitalized in the playoffs. Gen.G swiftly dispatched RRQ, Paper Rex, and DRX, showcasing their dominance.

With the extraordinary performances of young talent Kim "Karon" Won-tae, combined with the sharp aim of Kim "t3xture" Na-ra and the strategic mind of Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom, Gen.G poses a significant threat in the Grand Finals. Their experience on the big stage, coupled with a taste for victory, ensures they will bring their A-game to the ultimate showdown.

The Road to Glory

As the VCT Pacific League Stage 2 Finals Week unfolds, all eyes will be on the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium. The stakes are higher than ever, and the competition fierce. Who will rise to the occasion and claim the title of Pacific Champions? Fans eagerly await the answers as Paper Rex, DRX, and Gen.G prepare for battle in what promises to be an unforgettable finale.
