FNATIC announced that Leo "Leo" Jannesson will not be returning to their Valorant roster for the early second half of the year. This decision comes as the team prepares for the Split 2 Playoffs and the Champions 2024 tournament, with Hiro continuing to fill in.

Background

On Saturday, June 15, FNATIC revealed that Leo needed to focus on his health. This announcement was made by the team's Director through social media, just before the start of Stage 2 of the VCT EMEA 2024.

Leo's replacement, Hiro, has been performing very well as of late and it is his debut with a top-tier team in the Franchised League.

FNATIC's further announcements

FNATIC took to Twitter to provide an update on Leo's situation and their roster decisions for the upcoming tournaments.

This announcement confirms that Hiro will remain in the main lineup, and also highlights the return of Doma as a substitute and AnderzzTV as a strategic consultant, strengthening the team’s support structure for the crucial matches ahead.

Leo's statement

Leo also shared his thoughts on his continued absence, expressing his support for his teammates:

"Still not in a physical condition to be competing, boys are doing great with Hiro. Show them your support for playoffs and champs, see yall."

His message reassures fans and emphasizes the importance of his health while showing confidence in his team's current lineup.

As FNATIC moves forward with Hiro for the remainder of the season, the team is gearing up for an undoubtedly challenging run in the Split 2 Playoffs and Champions 2024. Fans are eager to see how this adjusted roster will perform, and there is widespread support for Leo as he prioritizes his health.
