Despite being The International 2022 runner-up,  the 2022-2023 DPC season has not gone in Team Secret’s favour. Team Secret had made various roster changes, and with The International 2023 around the corner, the Dota 2 action is starting to get intense.

However, despite various rosters, success has eluded them. Moreover,  Secret got relegated twice during the 2022-2023 DPC Season. Their recent roster change showed some promise during the run at The DreamLeague Season 20, but the team again got eliminated, losing the tiebreakers series to Evil Geniuses.

The New Roster For Riyadh Masters Close Qualifiers

Recently, Team Secret has gone through a new roster shuffle for the Riyadh Master Close Qualifiers, catching fans off guard. This iteration of the Team Secret roster featured veterans and a promising rookie across the Middle East.

Playing under a brand new banter as Team Secret ME, the team consists of Crysalis as their safelane hard carry. Mage, a promising, talented rookie midlane player, will be the team’s midlaner. Mage is also known for his marvellous mechanical skills in his Twitch streams. Yapzor, the veteran soft support player, had returned from his break for the Riyadh Master Close Qualifiers. Before taking his mental break, Yapzor was already an accomplished player in Team Secret. He had won multiple Major titles with Team Secret. However, his return has a twist. Yapzor will be playing as the team’s offlaner instead of his usual role. He has been recently practising offlane heroes on his account. During the last eight days, Yapzor played 14 matches on his main account and has a 50.0% win rate.

AfrOmoush is the team’s soft support player taking Yapzor’s position. AfrOmoush is known to be a versatile position 4 support player. Thus, it’s going to be interesting to see his performance on such a star-studded roster. Finally, the team will be rounding off with Puppey as the team’s captain and hard support player. Puppey has years of experience to navigate his new roster to countless victories. Moreover, Puppey only brought his safelaner from former Team Secret to this iteration of Team Secret.

Promising Results and The Threat That Looms

Team Secret ME has already won the open qualifiers with their roster. They are now in closed qualifiers with the two teams from the WEU region, Nigma Galaxy and Quest Esports and one from the open qualifier. Winning the Closed Qualifiers will ensure Team Secret a seat at the Riyadh Masters, which features a $ 15 million USD prize pool.

Moreover, one of Puppey’s achievements as a player is at risk because of Team Secret’s record this year. Going to Riyadh Master could salvage Puppey’s record in some way. Moreover, the team needs to secure their spot in The International through the qualifiers.
