The DreamLeague Season 20 is full of surprises. Despite dominating half of the 2022-2023 DPC Season, the Western European teams crumbled in DreamLeague Season 20. Moreover, in the second stage of the group stages, only one team from Western Europe prevailed despite the region getting the majority of direct invites.

The Eastern European teams took the majority of slots for the second stage. However, despite only getting two seats for the second stage of group stages, one Chinese team currently dominates the group stages, while the other is at risk of elimination.

The Record speaks

PSG.LGD dominated the Chinese Region in the 2022-2023 DPC Summer Tour. Despite their dominance, the limelight was on Team Aster because Team Aster had Sumail, who was on loan from Nigma Galaxy. However, regardless of the limelight, PSG.LGD only lost to Azure Ray during their regional playoffs. They even won against Team Aster, and with a score of six wins and one loss, PSG.LGD were the top seed of China in the Summer Tour. They also were the first team, along with Team Aster, to secure their ticket to The Bali Major.

Dark Horses, but are they? 

However, despite their dominance in their region, going into DreamLeague Season 20, they were one of the dark horses. In DreamLeague, the team was in Group A against titans like Team Liquid and Tundra Esports. PSG.LGD came swinging, and they made their way to the second stage of Group Stages with a score of one win and six ties, PSG. LGD advanced to the next round.

Unexpected but expected results

In the second stage of group stages, PSG.LGD got up to a marvellous start. The team won their debut series against Team Spirit. The team also win their following series against Gaimin Gladiators, the champions of the Lima Major, DreamLeague Season 19 and The Berlin Major. Although Evil Geniuses made PSG.LGD bleed, PSG.LGD prevailed and took the series 2 - 1.

PSG.LGD also won their following series against Talon Esports. With a score of four wins and no losses, PSG.LGD is currently dominating the second stage of group stages. Their upcoming series is against  BetBoom Team. Currently undefeated and with a score of three wins, PSG.LGD is the top seed in the second stage of DreamLeague Season 20.

BetBoom team displayed a strong showing in the first stage of the group stages, and they placed 2nd in Group B during the first stage at DreamLeague Season 20. BetBoom Team is also currently undefeated and is in second place behind PSG.LGD.
