The International 2026 Day 4 Recap: Three Regions Are Knocked Out!

The elimination stage of The International 2026 has concluded, and three regions were eliminated in a single day. South America, North America, and host region China join Southeast Asia as regions without a representative in the playoffs.

Let's take a look at how the final day before playoffs shaped up and which teams are in the top eight.

China is the second region to exit The International 2026.

The day started off with Team Falcons sending Vici Gaming home. Both matches were one-sided stomps, as Falcons tripled Vici's score and didn't give them any chance to come back. Thus ended China's second hope.

Team Spirit put China out of its misery by sending Team Resilience packing, thus ending the region's hope. While the series was 2-1, Spirit's two victories were incredibly dominant. 

One wonders how this will impact teams in the region for the future. After Vici Gaming's loss, their owner tweeted the team had disbanded less than 10 minutes after the series ended, hardly a good sign. Overall, China underperformed in this International, and it's a shame to see a once mighty competitor fail to make a deep run in TI.

The Americas get knocked out one after the other.

China wasn't the only region that is out of The International. Before the day was done, two more regions had their hopes extinguished.

GamerLegion had a rough draw, taking on Iron Wing for a spot in the playoffs. Sadly the match wasn't even close, as Iron Wing spent slightly less than an hour to take out North America. While unfortunate, GamerLegion did fairly well to make it that far, especially as they were the lone representative from North America.

LGD Gaming had a similar story. They made it to the elimination round by beating all three Chinese teams but failed to beat Yandex in the nail-biting game three of their series. LGD had to overcome tremendous roster obstacles to make it to TI, and it's likely they would have fared slightly better if the draft had been more stable. 

And that's that. Only MENA and Europe remain to battle it out for the Aegis this year. Which region will come out on top and whose hands will take the Aegis home?
