Easiest Mid Lane Heroes To Grind MMR In Dota 2 Patch 7.41e
Valve has recently squashed MMR for Immortal players in Dota 2. After years of inflation, MMR is brought back down to meaningful numbers. The result is much shorter queue times and an easier grind to make it to the leaderboards.
Thanks to the squash, Dota 2 hit its highest player numbers this year, with nearly 900 thousand players online at once. With so many returning to Dota 2, we thought it would be a good idea to showcase some of the easiest to play heroes to help you make it to the Immortal bracket and get your name in the top 5000. We have touched on carry heroes in the past, and this article will focus on the mid lane.
Best Midlaners To Grind MMR In Dota 2 Patch 7.41e
Leshrac

If you're looking for a simple hero to start the list, then Leshrac is a wonderful pick. The hero can be on the front line to deal damage or stay behind to throw out spells. His laning phase is nearly impossible to shut down, while winning against most melee matchups.
Early on, players should put two points in Lightning Storm to secure creeps while harassing enemy heroes. The real question is whether you should invest in Edict or Split Earth. Most often, you should max the Edict to deal more damage and take down towers. But if you're losing the lane, then Split Earth can help.
Later on, Leshrac functions as a frontliner for his team, since two of his spells are fairly close range. This allows the hero to prioritise buying durability items. Making not only a high-damage mid, but also a tank for his team as well. Kaya and Sange, BKB, along with Blink and Shiva's Guard, provide a great mix of durability, mobility, and mana regeneration.
With his ability to melt heroes and buildings alike, Leshrac is an incredible hero to master in the mid lane and wins 53% of games he appears in.
Outworld Devourer

If there is one hero who can do well in any matchup, it's Outworld Devourer. The hero is a solid laner, with a versatile skill set and pure damage that ignores armour.
Let's start with the landing stage. Astral Imprisonment is a good way to secure last hits and denies. Enemies literally are off the map and unable to contest. It also hurts enemies and can be used to save allies in skirmishes.
Arcane Orb is where the real damage is. It's pure and therefore ignores armour. It deals a percentage of OD's mana as damage, and given that OD can reach several thousand mana points, that's a very painful hit.
One excellent thing about OD is he offers a flexible item build. Players can opt for Black King Bar, Aghanim's Sceptre, Hurricane Pike, Parasma, or Hex. The choice is yours and allows the hero to adapt to different situations. Lately, Blink Dagger has become mandatory for the hero, as he does lack mobility without it.
While not super flashy early, OD is a reliable laner with powerful scaling abilities. If you're looking to start in the mid lane, then Outworld Devourer is a very solid option.
Keeper Of The Light

If you're not confident in your laning abilities, then Keeper of the Light is a good start for your mid-lane career. The hero basically ignores his opponent in the early game. Spam Illuminate, use Chakra, then use Illuminate again to clear the waves. It's a fairly simple strategy.
Keeper of the Light also provides players with a lot of flexibility in how they want to play. You can opt to kill enemies with Orchid and Vessel or focus on sustaining the team and disabling enemies with Octarine Core and Aghanim upgrades.
One important note on Keeper is that chakra magic is 30% more effective when used on yourself. This makes it generally better to self Chakra is in fights to throw out more Illuminates, rather than helping allies. It can feel a bit selfish, but then again, you're a midlaner; you're allowed to be selfish.
Thanks to his flexibility and stable laning, Keeper of the Light is an unorthodox but very strong mid-lane hero to pick up.
