The Western European regional league winner and Group B top seed, Team Liquid, made a shocking announcement. On the team’s coach's Twitter, Team Liquid announced that their position 4 player, Samuel "Boxi" Svahn, will be flying home because of a medical emergency. In the same Tweet, he continued to say that the team’s analyst, Mathis "Jabbz" Friesel, will be filling in the shoes of Boxi for their upcoming matches. Coming into the Lima Major, Team Liquid is considered the best team in the tournament. Team Liquid is the clear favourite to win The Lima Major  The coach also requested fans not to speculate on their star support’s condition and instead asked to send him love and support.

Plans

Boxi had bedazzled everyone, with his marvellous performance, since the start of the 2022-2023 DPC Winter Tour.  With his plays on Tusk, Clockwerk and Rubick, Boxi is one of the supports to keep an eye on for The Lima Major. There are also instances Team Liquid won the match because of his space creation and crucial pickoffs. He also plays a pivotal role for Team Liquid in securing the top 3 finish at The Lima Major.  Blitz thanked Valve for understanding and allowing their analyst to step in last second. Whether Team Liquid will face the points reduction penalty has not been disclosed. However, Team Liquid may not get penalised because of the scenario.

The analyst

Jabbz is a former midlaner who last played at WESG for Dutch national team. He is also a midlaner, but in some of the streams of a popular Dota 2 streamer Gorgc, he stated that Jabbz is an 8K versatile player and can also play support. The upcoming match for Team Liquid is against Gaimin Gladiators, and the series is set to play on March 5th. The winner of the series will advance to the Grand-Finals of The Lima Major. Despite playing with a stand-in, Team Liquid feels confident knowing they have a shot for the title.
