PGL Wallachia Season 8: Group Stage Results and Playoffs Schedule

PGL Wallachia Season 8: Group Stage Results and Playoffs Schedule

After an eventful Group Stage, PGL Wallachia Season 8 moves forward into the Playoffs. We had a lot of unexpected outcomes from day one and now we will see how things unfold.

8 out of the 16 initial teams will advance to the Playoffs, all starting in the Upper Bracket and going through double elimination on the way to the Grand Final, which will take place on April 26.

PGL Wallachia Season 8: Group Stage Results

The Group Stage started with an unexpected victory, as Heroic beat Tundra Esports on the first day. Tundra came in as favorites and losing to a South American team was a surprise despite Heroic's well-known strength.

In a nostalgic turn, we saw the return of Eastern European domination, with BetBoom Team and Aurora Gaming securing the first two slots in the Playoffs after Round 3 concluded.

Eastern European domination is back on PGL Wallachia Season 8.

On the elimination side, Tundra Esports and Team Yandex were the first teams to fall. This is almost unbelievable considering both had strong performances so far, but it seems burnout is taking its toll on their rosters.

In Round 4, PARIVISION, Team Liquid and Team Falcons each secured a slot. We also saw another trio of eliminations, with Natus Vincere, Vici Gaming and Virtus.pro dropping out of the tournament.

Round 4 brought three big organizations into the PGL Wallachia Season 8 playoffs.

Finally, Round 5 brought the Group Stage to a close with Heroic, South America Rejects and Team Spirit claiming the remaining Playoff spots and, by extension, eliminating GamerLegion, MOUZ and Xtreme Gaming.

South America made an unusually strong run through the Group Stage. Now we will have to wait and see if they can keep the momentum going in the Playoffs.

PGL Wallachia Season 8: Playoffs Schedule

There will be almost no downtime before the Playoffs begin on April 23. The Upper Bracket matchups have already been decided, giving us the following schedule for the opening day:

  • 07:00 GMT — PARIVISION vs. South America Rejects
  • 10:00 GMT — Aurora Gaming vs. Heroic
  • 13:00 GMT — Team Liquid vs. Team Falcons
  • 16:00 GMT — BetBoom Team vs. Team Spirit

Matches will start early in the morning, and the first day of Playoffs will be entirely played on April 23 before we find out which teams will make up the Lower Bracket from the second day onward.

Interesting Matchups

Out of the four opening-day matchups, there are two I would like to highlight:

PARIVISION vs. South America Rejects

First, we have another match featuring PARIVISION versus South America Rejects. They faced each other in the fourth round of the Group Stage, where PARIVISION qualified after a 2-1 victory.

This is a good opportunity for SAR to take a win over PARIVISION and at the same time, gain attention from organizations that may be scouting for specific roles or even a full roster.

Team Liquid vs. Team Falcons

Both teams have not performed at their best in 2026, and this is especially true for Team Falcons. While Liquid has at least won BLAST Slam VI back in February, Team Falcons has not won anything since FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 back in November 2025.

They also have been under great pressure. Falcons have faced several issues that prevented them from fielding a full roster in recent tournaments and will be trying harder to win this first match to secure an easier path to the Grand Final.

Closing Thoughts

Tundra Esports getting eliminated along with Team Yandex was a big shock that shows how PGL Wallachia never fails to surprise by delivering results most thought impossible.

On the other hand, both South American teams made it past the Group Stage on the final day, showing how hard the region is working to evolve and get into shape before the Esports World Cup and The International.
