The International 2023 Qualifiers are on the horizon. After The Riyadh Masters 2023, The International is the only tier 1 tournament left for the season. Valve recently announced that a new patch will be released before the start of the TI qualifiers, meaning it will be available in the upcoming weeks. As everyone eagerly anticipates Patch 7.34, some players have shared their feedback and recommendations on what Valve could improve in the upcoming patch.

The Tormentors

In Patch 7.33, the map got expanded. New objectives and buildings got introduced to the game. One of these objectives is Tormentor. Tormentors were a new type of structure that gave free Aghnamin Shard to one of the lowest net-worth heroes of the team when destroyed. At first, they were a popular objective.

However, as the meta started to shape, teams ignored taking Tormentors because they were risky and disrupted the pace teams wanted to play. Taking a Tormentor would often result in one of the heroes on the team dying because of the reflected damage. Due to it, core players often ignore prioritising it unless their team have support whose shard ability is crucial in skirmishes. Some professional players even have become a walking meme because of the tormentor. Arteezy recently expressed his doubts about the value of killing Tormentors.

New Camps And Neutrals

As the map got bigger in Patch 7.33, new neutral camps got added. By adding new camps,  cores found their haven because it becomes impossible to shut off the map. Recently, Valve gave the neutrals the mana to use their in-game abilities. It would be intriguing to see Valve adding new types of neutral creeps.

Doing so would encourage players to play more unit-controlled heroes like Lycan, Beast Master, Chen and Enchantress. It would also be interesting to see if they decided to bring back Ancient Prowler Shaman and Ancient Prowler Acolyte. With Helm Of the Overlord, these removed ancient creeps would be a nuance for many players to handle.

New Hero?

Everyone expected Muerta will come along with Patch 7.34. However, Valve added her in Patch 7.33. Valve has a trend of releasing two new heroes each year. Last I checked, Muerta is the only hero recently released this year. While it’s a tad hard to predict with certainty, Valve has a history of introducing a new hero with each digit change in the Patch. Despite the hype surrounding Muerta's release, the hype for new heroes had died down a bit. With the community not expecting any new heroes soon, Valve could surprise us with an unexpected addition to Dota 2.
