Eight of the world's best Overwatch teams are set to collide at the OWCS Champions Clash 2026, the first international event of the year. From May 22-24, these teams will fight for glory and a piece of the crowdfunded prize pool. The Champions Clash will be played on patch 2.1, marking Sierra's debut in Overwatch esports; it will be interesting to see how pros utilize the new hero.
The OWCS Champions Clash 2026 will be held at the Arena Tachikawa Tachihi in Tokyo, Japan. In‑person attendees will receive all viewership rewards, along with a few exclusive in‑game items. Online viewers can earn a variety of reward drops by tuning into the official broadcast or partnered co‑streamers on YouTube and Twitch.

Teams
The eight participating teams include two from each of the four regions: North America, EMEA, China, and Asia. All of them earned their spot at the 2026 Champions Clash by either winning or finishing as runners‑up in their respective region's OWCS Stage 1 tournament.

The winner of the Champions Clash will advance to the OWCS Midseason Championship, which will be held as part of the 2026 Esports World Cup in July.
Format
The tournament will consist of a single stage. All eight teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket over three days. The first set of Upper Bracket and Lower Bracket matches will be first‑to‑two (Ft2), while the remaining matches will be first‑to‑three (Ft3). The Grand Final will be an exception, played as a first‑to‑four (Ft4) series.
Regarding hero bans, each team gets one ban per map. However, both banned heroes cannot share the same role, and the same hero cannot be banned twice by the same team within a series.
