The Lima Major is less than a week away and the group stage draw has been finalised. The organisers of the tournament, Epulze and 4D Esports did a short live stream for the group stage draw that racked up 3.7K views.

The production for the draw was questionable even though a lot of effort was put in by the organisers. Hopefully, fans will get better production at the Major.

Even though the current stage in Peru is unstable, the organisers assured fans that they have alternate plans if the situation could impact the tournament.

Brief Details

Group A                                                  Group B

Excretion                                                 Geek Slate

Gaimin Gladiators                                  Team Liquid

TSM                                                           Shopify Rebellion

Evil Geniuses                                           BeastCoast

PSG.LGD                                                  Team Aster

Team Spirit                                              BetBoom Team

Talon Esports                                          HellRaisers

EHOME                                                    Entity

Tundra Esports                                        Knights

The 18 teams that qualified for the Lima Major have been put into two groups of 9 teams. It is a single round-robin. Group stages will be played as Bo2 which means every match will be counted. The top 4 teams from each group will move on to the upper brackets of the playoffs. The 5th and 6th place teams will advance to the lower brackets of the playoffs. The remaining teams will be eliminated.

Favourites

Even though two teams have already won the coveted Aegis Of Champions, Group A has a fair group composed of an equal number of underdog teams and favourite teams and it would be a tough group for some teams. Group B on the other hand has a clear favourite in the form of Team Liquid which dominated a clean 7-0 sweep in the Winter Tour run qualifying for the Lima Major.

Notables facts

From the 18 participating teams, two teams will be playing with standin'. Those two teams are PSG.LGD and HellRaisers thus will be going through a 40% penalty for the points they earned from the Major.
