FaZe Clan Announce New Head Coach

FaZe Clan Announce New Head Coach

FaZe Clan has confirmed the signing of Niclas "enkay J" Krumhorn as the new head coach of their Counter-Strike 2 roster. The German coach steps into a turbulent situation at one of esports' most iconic organizations, tasked with steadying the ship during what appears to be a significant transitional period.

enkay J arrives to fill the void left by Filip "NEO" Kubski, the Polish legend who parted ways with FaZe earlier this year. Dominik "GruBy" Świderski had been serving as interim coach in the meantime, but FaZe have now made their permanent appointment.

A Coach Built on European Tier-1 and Tier-2 Experience

enkay J brings a well-traveled coaching résumé to the role. His journey in professional Counter-Strike began all the way back in CS: Source, before playing on a plethora of teams. In the CS:GO era, he transitioned to an analyst role, starting off with MOUZ (then mousesports) before making his way to G2 Esports. It was a role that helped sharpen the strategic mind he would later deploy as a head coach. He subsequently took the reins of a few teams, most recently at ENCE, where results were modest.

Under his guidance, ENCE claimed first place at Elisa Masters Espoo 2024 and secured a top-8 finish at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 European Regional Qualifier. These are not headline-grabbing achievements by FaZe's lofty standards, but they speak to enkay J's ability to extract structure and competitive identity from limited rosters. And it may be the kind of coaching intelligence FaZe may need right now.

A Team at a Crossroads

The timing of this appointment is telling. Rumors surrounding long-time IGL Finn "karrigan" Andersen's potential departure on to greener sands have been circulating for some time, raising legitimate questions about FaZe's identity and direction going forward. Bringing in enkay J feels like a deliberate move. The organization is seemingly preparing for a rebuild rather than a patch job, handing their new coach the autonomy to shape whatever comes next.

With no spot at IEM Rio, FaZe's next competitive outing will be BLAST Rivals Spring 2026, kicking off April 29. It will be enkay J's first real test, and the esports world will be watching closely to see what he can build.
