This year's event will be held at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark. The last time TI was in Europe, there was no live audience due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, The International 2024 will be the second version to feature a European audience on European soil – the first being the tournament's debut.

The International 2024 will follow a format similar to last year’s edition, featuring Group Stages and The Main Event. This year’s TI also marks the return of the Seeding Decider matches.

The event schedule is as follows:

- Group stage: September 4th-5th

- Seeding decider: September 6th-7th

- Main Event (Playoffs): September 8th-10th

- Main Event (Finals): September 13th-15th

The tournament follows last year’s format, the group stage will feature a single round-robin format. The sixteen teams will be split into four groups, each containing four teams. All series played during the group stage will be best-of-two (Bo2).  The top two teams in each group will face opponents from the 3rd or 4th place teams in the opposite groups (A/B and C/D) for their seeding matches.

The seeding decider matches will determine the main event bracket placements. The winners of these series will advance to the upper bracket of the main event, while the losers will move to the lower bracket. The seeding deciders will be best-of-three (Bo3).

The playoffs will feature a double-elimination bracket. All series played during the playoffs will be best-of-three (Bo3), except for the grand finals, which will be best-of-five (Bo5).

The International 2024 Teams

A total of sixteen teams will compete for a chance to get their names forever immortalised. Six of them received the direct invite, and the other ten found their way through the qualifiers.
