Player rankings combine multiple performance signals: recent match results, win rate, opponent strength, tournament tier, roster stability, and current form. Each discipline weights these signals differently to reflect how that game is actually played — for example, CS2 rankings rely more heavily on team-level results, while individual disciplines like StarCraft II prioritize personal Glicko ratings.

The Glicko Rating System is an advanced alternative to traditional Elo for measuring competitive skill. It assigns each player a rating plus a Rating Deviation (RD), which reflects how confident the system is in that rating. Low RD means stable, reliable performance; high RD indicates limited data or recent volatility. Because esports players frequently change teams and play uneven schedules, Glicko reacts more intelligently to new results than Elo. Active, consistent players see smaller adjustments, while unpredictable or inactive players shift more — making Glicko a more accurate model for evaluating true player strength.

Rankings update continuously as new match data comes in. Individual player profiles refresh within minutes of a match concluding, while aggregate rankings (top-10 lists, regional standings) recalculate at least once per day. Tournament-tier results trigger immediate recalculations to keep rankings aligned with the latest competitive reality.
