In the first elimination series of VALORANT Masters Madrid, LOUD took on China’s FunPlus Phoenix.

The game was the first time the two sides faced each other.

LOUD 2-0 FunPlus Phoenix:

In their previous game, LOUD stumbled to close out against Gen.G falling to the 0-1 group facing elimination against FPX, talking about their discussion after the opening game Saadhak said:

[Saadhak] “For us it was more like, okay guys we just lost. We went to see what went wrong and come back stronger, we have another life, we have another opportunity to show our gameplay, to show the way we like to play so let’s just focus on that. We are not out yet. Let’s just keep playing, let’s reset for this game against FPX. “

On the first map, LOUD outclassed FPX securing a 8-4 lead on the first half of Sunset and converted the lead to a 13-5 finish.

FPX fired back on Breeze, securing a two-round lead by the end of the first half, but a thrifty round led by Saadhak’s 2K secured them the second map and closed out the series 2-0.

Talking about his and LOUD’s preparation for the next game, Saadhak said:

[Saadhak] “So individually I just focus on being hot enough to perform well. As a team, I would say, we rely more on our coaches to say, ‘Ok they like to do this and that and we should do this and that.’ They also help me a lot because for me to call, I rely a lot on what they (coaches) would say to me, tell me how the enemy likes to play, yeah.”

With the loss, FPX became the first team to be eliminated from Madrid. The Chinese side displayed some amazing Valorant but failed to close out games.

[berLIN] “I think we got a lot of improvement in this third experience of the world stage but we still need to focus on our mentality and communication in the game, including our individual performance.

I still think we did not achieve our standard on stage, we did improve a lot more than previous times, but it was not enough. We will definitely review our matches and come back stronger.”
