BuZz Re-Signs With T1 Through 2028 Amid 2027 Roster Rebuild
T1 has re-signed Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul through 2028. The announcement came on Friday, November 6, just one day after the organization extended the contract of fellow Masters Bangkok champion Kim “stax” Gu-taek through the same year. With both players secured, T1 is beginning to establish the core of its roster for the 2027 VCT Pacific season in VALORANT.
BuZz joined T1 in October 2024 after leaving DRX. In March 2025, he helped the organization win its first major international title at Masters Bangkok 2025, defeating G2 Esports 3-2 in the grand final.
In 2026, T1 reached the playoffs of VALORANT Champions for the first time. The team's run ended in 5th-6th place following a 2-1 loss to G2 in Shanghai.
BuZz and stax Re-Sign Following Three Player Departures
Kim “stax” Gu-taek, who joined T1 in June 2024, has also extended his contract through 2028. Ham “iZu” Woo-joo remains under contract through the end of 2027.
The extensions follow the departures of Kim “Meteor” Tae-oh, Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom and Kang “DH” Dong-ho, which were confirmed in early November.
T1 also parted ways with head coach Kim “KDG” Dong-gun and assistant coach Lee “CheongGak” Il-ho. A few days later, the organization announced the return of So “sungmin” Seong-min to its coaching staff. T1 said he would work alongside a new head coach but did not name that person in the announcement.
TenZ, crashies and Sacy Remain Linked to T1
With BuZz, stax and iZu forming the core of the roster, T1 has yet to reveal its full starting lineup for 2027. According to reports from Sheep Esports, Tyson “TenZ” Ngo and Austin “crashies” Roberts are reportedly close to joining the team. For TenZ, the move would mark a return to professional competition after his retirement in 2024.
Meanwhile, Brazilian former pro Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi has been linked with the vacant head coaching position. If the reported moves go through, Sacy would reunite with TenZ, with whom he won Masters Madrid 2024 while playing for Sentinels.
T1 has not officially confirmed any of those three potential additions. The organization has, however, secured one of the eight VCT Pacific partnership slots for 2027 and 2028 as it looks to compete for international titles again.
