Riot Games plans to remove the existing VCT team capsules from the in-game store on September 12th. These capsules have been a key part of the VCT 2024 season. Thus allowing fans to show their support while providing crucial revenue to the teams.

On February 21, the VCT launched the 2024 team capsules, allowing fans to support their favorite teams stylishly and financially. The VCT Americas, EMEA, and Pacific capsules debuted on February 21. With VCT CN skins arriving in May for Masters Shanghai.

Riot focuses the revenue model for these capsules on the teams by sharing 50% of the proceeds with them. This mirrors the successful revenue-sharing strategy used for the 2023 Champions bundle. Which generated about $33 million for the participating teams.

Removing the Team Capsules

As we approach the end of the VCT 2024 season, the team capsules are set to be removed from the in-game store in September. This decision is likely due to the anticipated introduction of new team capsules for 2025. Leo Faria, Global Head of Valorant Esports, has hinted at this in the past.

The removal of the VCT team capsules in September marks the end of a successful season of fan engagement and financial support for teams. As fans eagerly await the potential release of new capsules in 2025, the impact of these in-game items on the esports ecosystem remains significant.

Is VALORANT Crossplay? PC, PS5, Xbox & Mobile Explained (2026)

VALORANT does not offer crossplay between PC and console. This means that PC players can only match and play against other PC players, and console players (PS5 and Xbox) players can only match and play against other console players. While there is no crossplay in VALORANT, the game does support cross progression, which means that your account, skins, and any other form of progress carry from one platform to the other (from PC to console, and vice versa).
