The second day of VALORANT Champions 2024 featured the opening games of Group A. The first game pitted Pacific #2 seed, DRX, against Americas #3, KRU Esports, followed by EMEA #1 FNATIC taking on China #4 Bilibili Gaming.

Let’s see how the events of the day unfurled.

DRX reverse sweeps KRU Esports

The VALORANT Champions day 2 started on Haven, with KRU completely outclassing DRX to secure the first map with a 13-2 scoreline.

DRX answered back with the same intensity, winning Abyss 13-6 and forcing a third map.  The strong momentum from the second map carried DRX to a strong 9-3 half on Bind.

DRX finally closed the game with another 13-6 win on Bind, securing the Group A Winner’s game.

With Ardiis’ hairs on stake, FNATIC took on Bilibili Gaming. Starting on Bind, BLG displayed resilience but FNATIC’s star power and strong fundamentals helped them limit the damage to five rounds.

In the attacking half, FNATIC completely overpowered the BLG defense, winning the map 13-9.

The second map breezed through as FNATIC completely shut down all the BLG attacks on Lotus, winning the half 10-2, closing the map 13-4, to win the series 2-0.

With the win, the EMEA Champions will face DRX for VALORANT Champions Playoffs qualification.

The Group A winner’s game will be the fourth time the two teams will face each other. In their previous encounters DRX was able to defeat FNATIC only once, eliminating them from VALORANT Champions 2022, Istanbul.

Talking about the time they lost, Alfajer declared war on the upcoming opponents

“When we played with DRX last time it was the 2022 champions, I guess. I don't remember, but I remember only one game is 2022 champions because they eliminated us and it was my own country and I was waiting this moment

I'm gonna beat them in their own country. I'm kind of sad because I can't send them home. But,I can send them lower. ”

For DRX, this will be a revenge match for their Champions 2023 exit. Both teams have their vendetta set for the game on August 6th.

Is VALORANT Crossplay? PC, PS5, Xbox & Mobile Explained (2026)

VALORANT does not offer crossplay between PC and console. This means that PC players can only match and play against other PC players, and console players (PS5 and Xbox) players can only match and play against other console players. While there is no crossplay in VALORANT, the game does support cross progression, which means that your account, skins, and any other form of progress carry from one platform to the other (from PC to console, and vice versa).
