Titan Esports Club (TEC) have picked up EDward Gaming (EDG) former-player turned assistant coach, Guo “Haodong” Haodong. It is still unclear whether Haodong will return to his former role as a player or if he will remain as a coach on the TEC roster.

EDG parted ways with Haodong earlier today after a 4-year run. He is most well-known for his transition from player to assistant coach midway through EDG’s 2024 season, and was instrumental in securing the Chinese organization’s first international trophy - VALORANT Champions 2024.

He’s Not Done Yet

For the majority of esports players, the true death knell to one’s competitive career sounds when they make the transition from player to coach. It’s an acceptance that the time has come, mechanics have faded, that they can no longer compete mechanically on the server.

And yet, for Haodong, he’s only 22 years old. He began playing for EDG when he was 18, his first competitive game being VALORANT, and he has stuck with them for 4 years. He made landfall in Istanbul during his second year on EDG in 2022. 2023 was when EDG finally found their mark, officially declaring their presence during their incredible VCT Masters Tokyo run.

However, it was middling from there, as Haodong and co. could not find further success in terms of deeper runs. They were stuck. Enter 2024 and EDG found themselves knocked out of Masters Madrid and Shanghai in swift fashion. They were in danger of entering irrelevance, until Haodong made the swap over during Stage 2 and the organization brought on rookie Hsieh “S1Mon” Meng-hsun.

Now Haodong looks to make another run with a new organization. Alongside him is his former head coach Lo “AfteR” Wen-hsin, who was also picked up just prior to Haodong.

Is VALORANT Crossplay? PC, PS5, Xbox & Mobile Explained (2026)

VALORANT does not offer crossplay between PC and console. This means that PC players can only match and play against other PC players, and console players (PS5 and Xbox) players can only match and play against other console players. While there is no crossplay in VALORANT, the game does support cross progression, which means that your account, skins, and any other form of progress carry from one platform to the other (from PC to console, and vice versa).
