The European RMR B for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, kicking off on November 21, will follow a similar format to the RMR A.

Featuring 16 elite teams in a Swiss format battle,  only the top seven will secure a coveted place at one of the year's most prestigious Counter-Strike tournaments. Meanwhile the remaining nine will be eliminated.

Here’s a breakdown of the teams with the best shot at qualifying, based on recent form, roster strength, and potential to dominate the competition.

The Favorites

Team Spirit

Team Spirit enters the European RMR B as the undisputed favorite. Their 2024 season has been nothing short of remarkable, kicking off with a commanding win at Katowice and following up with another trophy at the Spring Final. This consistent run highlights their ability to shine on the big stage.

With Danil "donk" Kryshkovets leading the charge, Team Spirit has not only showcased explosive firepower but also tactical depth. Thus making them a strong contender for a top-seven finish and a deep Major run in Shanghai.

G2 Esports

G2’s 2024 season has been a rollercoaster of peaks and valleys. Despite inconsistencies, Kid Flash Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov’s stellar performances have anchored the team through turbulent times, keeping G2 competitive against top-tier opposition.

With rumors that Nikola "NiKo" Kovač may leave G2 after the Major, the team is highly motivated to secure a Shanghai spot and deliver a winning performance. This hunger, coupled with m0NESY’s ability to shift the momentum single-handedly, positions G2 as a strong candidate for qualification.

HEROIC

The 2024 season has tested HEROIC’s resilience, especially after the “stabbi” incident rocked their roster earlier this year. Despite these setbacks, the team has shown a resurgence under the leadership of Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski.

Managing a 3rd-4th finish at Rio and 2nd place at both the Elisa Masters Espoo and Thunderpick World Championship. This steady improvement suggests HEROIC is on an upward trajectory, and they’re in strong form heading into the European RMR B with a serious shot at making it to the Shanghai Major.

The Dark Horses

Eternal Fire

The Turkish powerhouse Eternal Fire has gained a reputation for being unpredictable. Being capable of disrupting even the most prepared teams on a good day. Although their recent performances have been inconsistent, they still have the raw firepower needed to secure a top-seven finish if İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş and Özgür "woxic" Eker can regain their peak form from ESL Pro League Season 20. With the right momentum, Eternal Fire could make a surprise run to Shanghai.

Astralis

The other side of the coin of the ‘stabbi’ fiasco, Astralis have gone through a drastic reformation. But after a string of terrible results throughout the year, they might have finally found what works for them. With a decent 3rd-4th place finish at the World Finals, Astralis have given their fans hope that the team might be slowly coming into its own under the leadership of Casper "cadiaN" Møller.

After their disappointing run in the RMR for the Copenhagen Major, which saw them miss out on a Major on home soil, Astralis will be looking to rectify their mistakes, and climb back to the top of competitive Counter Strike.

B8

Known for its inconsistency, B8’s season has been a mix of impressive performances and stumbles. The team’s recent 3rd-4th place at Elisa Masters Espoo and a runner-up finish at ESL Challenger Katowice suggest that they might have what it takes to compete at a high level.

If B8 can harness their momentum and deliver their best performances, they could be in line for a Shanghai Major slot.

3DMAX

Primarily competing in tier 2 tournaments, 3DMAX has demonstrated solid, consistent play throughout the year. However, their limited experience against tier 1 teams leaves questions about their ability to handle the intense competition of the RMR. If they can elevate their gameplay and remain composed against more experienced teams, 3DMAX could be the surprise qualifier from the Swiss bracket.

The European RMR B promises intense competition with only the top seven moving on to the Shanghai Major. With so much at stake, this RMR will be a proving ground for the best in Europe. Offering fans thrilling matches and the emergence of potential new challengers on the global stage.
