After getting Sumail on their team for the DPC 2022-2023 Season Summer Tour, Team Aster become the first team to qualify for the Bali Major. Sumail first joined them as a standin' at The Berlin Major, and the results spoke. Team Aster secured a 7th-8th place at The Berlin Major.

Shortly after The Berlin Major, Sumail announced his departure from Nigma Galaxy and joined Team Aster. Although, at first, there were huge concerns about how Sumail will communicate with the team, he revealed in a post-game interview that team synergy is more important.

The Results

Team Aster struggled in the DPC Spring Tour, narrowingly getting their ticket for The Berlin Major. However, at the Summer Tour, with Sumail, the team dominated the region and took down everyone that stood in their way. Moreover, they did it with their flair.

In one of their crucial official matches, the team even swap roles in-game, swapping Sumail as the team’s soft support and the team’s soft support as their midlane. Aster won the particular match with ease. Eventually, Aster took the series against Team Bright. Even one of the region’s strongest midlaner and his team couldn’t stop Team Aster with Sumail as they steamrolled through Azure Ray, taking the clean sweep. With the current score of five wins and 0 losses, Team Aster becomes the first to secure a slot at The Bali Major.

After being away from the Major spotlight, the Bali Major will mark Sumail’s return to the official Valve stage as a full-time team member in three years. Arteezy, one of Sumail’s former teammates, have praised him for his in-game skills, and many players from various regions are dubbing it a revival of the Chinese Dota scene.

PSG.LGD In Aster’s Shadows?

After being away from the limelight for a considerable time, PSG.LGD is also dominating the region and matching Team Aster’s record. The team became the second team to qualify for the Bali Major. Both teams will face one another on coming Sunday. The winner of the series will be the top seed in the region.
