PGL Wallachia Season 6: Meta Recap - Cores Back on the Menu
PGL Wallachia Season 6 is over, and it's time to check our meta recap to see how the event changed pro Dota 2. Let’s see which heroes were the most popular among professional players during the tournament.
On top of that, we will also check which heroes performed better and which teams took advantage of those picks. Finally, we will revisit the possible highlights for the next event by looking at the Shadow Meta.
PGL Wallachia Season 6: Meta Recap
Centaur Stomping Hard
Starting with the list of the five most popular heroes, in fifth place we have Slardar slithering over his enemies. After 20 victories in 33 matches, he achieved an impressive 60.61% win rate, the second highest on the list.
Next in line is Shadow Demon. He took part in 36 matches but only won 13 of them. That puts him at the bottom of the win-rate rankings in the Top 5 with just 36.11%. Third place also features a support: Tusk. He secured 19 victories in 41 matches and also fell below the equilibrium line with an underwhelming 46.34% win rate.
Right after him, Centaur Warrunner stomped his way to the second place. He had the best win rate of the Top 5, winning 35 out of 45 matches and delivering a massive 77.78% win rate while also setting a "theme" to the best performing cores.
Jakiro Keeps the Crown
Finally, at the top of the popularity contest, Jakiro remains the go-to support for most teams. He is the only support above a 50% win rate. After winning 32 out of 56 matches, the twin dragon reached a respectable 57.14% while holding his place at the top.
Team Liquid and BetBoom Team took the most value out of Slardar, with 3 victories in 4 matches each. OG also made good use of Shadow Demon, winning 3 out of 5 matches with him.
Next, despite Tusk’s final results being below average, MOUZ made incredible use of him, winning 8 out of 9 games with the hero. Centaur Warrunner performed so well that three teams had a 100% win rate with him: MOUZ, Natus Vincere, and Team Spirit.
Lastly, despite his popularity, Jakiro had mixed results across the board. Teams using him placed anywhere from 10th to 1st. The best performers were GamerLegion and PARIVISION, finishing 10th and 6th respectively. MOUZ and BetBoom Team also performed well and closed their runs in the Top 4.
Shadow Meta Recap: Beefy Core Meta
Aside from Centaur Warrunner, the only hero to break the 70% win rate mark was Primal Beast. He won 14 out of 19 games, reaching a strong 73.68% win rate during PGL Wallachia Season 6.
Following our two meat tanks, a wide variety of heroes reached the 60%+ win rate threshold. The list starts with Bane returning as a high-performing support, followed by Monkey King and Ember Spirit as a flexible core duo.

- Leshrac (64.71%)
- Abaddon (62.07%)
- Spirit Breaker (61.54%)
- Slardar (60.61%)
Leshrac and Abaddon also performed well as midlaner and carry respectively. Spirit Breaker adds another support to the list, which ends with Slardar placing both in the Top 5 and at the bottom of the Shadow Meta.
If you're looking for heroes to practice, anything close to the middle ground between Centaur and Slardar seems to work very well. Shadow Fiend gets an honorable mention for nearly hitting 10% pick rate and still delivering a solid 63.64% win rate.
Closing Thoughts
Shortly after PGL Wallachia concluded, BLAST Slam V began, and the Group Stage is already underway. Keep an eye on the meta heroes and shape your own picks around them to navigate matchmaking and hopefully climb more easily.
