Luka “Perkz” Perković has deleted his X account just one day after being fired by G2 Esports. The former professional player had returned to League of Legends as a coach earlier in 2026, but his time with G2 came to an abrupt end following backlash over controversial social media posts.

The @Perkz profile now displays a message saying the account does not exist. Before leaving the platform, the Croatian had shared a Bible verse amid backlash over his comments on religion, politics, and abortion.

How Did Perkz Return to G2 After Retiring?

Perkz announced his retirement from professional play in June 2025, following a stint with The Ruddy Sack earlier that year. Before that, he had played for Cloud9, Team Vitality, and Team Heretics. From 2015 to 2020, he built his legacy with G2, winning eight regional titles and MSI 2019, as well as reaching the Worlds final that same year.

His return to G2 became public in June 2026, initially as a member of the coaching staff. Perkz had already been helping the roster behind the scenes, and his involvement was revealed during the team's LEC Spring title win.

On July 10, G2 named Perkz its head coach, replacing Dylan Falco, who had been removed from the role following the team's elimination from MSI 2026.

With Perkz in charge, G2 won the LEC Summer title, sweeping Movistar KOI 3-0 in the September final. At Worlds 2026, however, G2 failed to reach the playoffs. Hanwha Life Esports eliminated the team in the Swiss Stage, ending its campaign with a 1-3 record.

What Led to Perkz's Firing by G2?

On November 4, Perkz published a 2,676-word post on X reflecting on his career, his time with G2, and his personal beliefs. He also discussed his relationship with former G2 executive Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago.

His comments on abortion drew the most criticism. Perkz described the practice as murder and said he would not change his position. The remarks prompted backlash from fans and prominent figures in the League of Legends community.

The following day, November 5, G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte announced that the organization had cut ties with Perkz. Dechelotte said some of the statements did not align with G2's stance and values. The organization also apologized to fans who had been hurt by his comments.

What Did Perkz Post Before Deleting His X Account?

Following his dismissal, Perkz shared Luke 6:22, a Bible verse about facing rejection and hostility because of one's faith. According to Dexerto, it was among his final posts before the account became unavailable.

With the account deleted, neither the original controversial post nor the later Bible verse can be viewed on his X profile. His Instagram, Twitch, and YouTube accounts remain active. So far, Perkz has not publicly commented on deleting his X account.
