BrokenBlade Reportedly Exploring Options Outside G2 Esports for 2027
Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik could leave G2 Esports after five seasons as the top laner considers his options for the 2027 League of Legends season. His current contract runs through November 16, 2026, and the two sides have yet to agree on an extension.
According to a November 5 report by Marian “Eros” Stoica, Alejandro “Anonimotum” Gomis and Brieuc “LEC Wooloo” Seeger of Sheep Esports, BrokenBlade has spoken to Movistar KOI, NAVI, Fnatic and LYON about a possible move. Some discussions have included potential contract figures, but no agreement with another team has been reported.
G2 offered the player a new contract months ago, the report says, but negotiations have not led to a renewal. While staying with G2 has not been ruled out, a departure is currently considered more likely.
BrokenBlade's Five-Year Stint Could End After Worlds 2026
BrokenBlade joined G2 from Schalke 04 at the end of 2021 and is the roster's second-longest-serving player behind Rasmus “Caps” Winther. Since joining the organization, he has won 12 LEC titles, including four in 2024 and all three in 2026.
G2 also finished runner-up at First Stand 2026 and reached the MSI semifinals, but its Worlds 2026 campaign ended in the Swiss Stage with a 1-3 record. The team was eliminated by Hanwha Life Esports after earlier losses to Dplus KIA and Top Esports.
With free agency approaching, BrokenBlade's next move remains open. G2 could still renew his contract if it fails to secure another top laner, while the player has yet to commit to any of the teams he has spoken with.
G2 Esports Is Considering Naak Nako for the Top Lane
G2 is also exploring replacements, having contacted Team Vitality about Kaan “Naak Nako” Okan. A deal is not close, according to Sheep Esports, so the team has yet to settle its top lane for next season.
Another reported change is already taking shape in the jungle. Linas “Lyncas” Nauncikas is expected to replace Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan for 2027. Neither move has been officially announced by G2.
