As an early Christmas present to their fans, NRG have announced their VCT 2024 roster.

The most awaited announcement confirms the addition of Max “Demon1” Mazanov, Ethan “Ethan” Arnold and Jimmy “Marved” Nyugen.

With the latest additions, the VCT 2024 NRG roster is:

2024 saw NRG acquire one of the best North American Valorant cores available in Crashies, Victor, Pujan “FNS” Mehta and Coach Chet. They retained Sam “s0m” Oh and imported Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks from EMEA to round out the squad.

The team created was easily one of the best teams in NA and they proved themselves at the inaugural VCT LOCK//IN 2023. Unfortunately, they lost to LOUD in a very close series to get eliminated.

Coming to VCT Americas 2023, they were easily the 2nd seed if not the first. But the team struggled to maintain their position on the leaderboard. They did qualify for the playoffs and made a run to the finals, but lost to LOUD once again.

The 2nd place finish in the playoffs earned them a VCT Masters Tokyo and Valorant Champions 2023 invite. At Tokyo, NRG placed a respectable fourth but were demolished at Valorant Champions 2023 by the debutante Bilibili Gaming, to get eliminated from the relatively easy group stage.

The results led to a roster implosion, FNS, s0m chose to stream while ardiis returned to his old FPX teammates in Natus Vincere.

The New Pieces

The new pieces brought by the organization include Marved, who helped Sentinels to conclude the year on a respectable note. He took a break from the competition and found himself in Sentinels mid-season and had to IGL the squad to a respectable finish.

They also brought in Valorant Champions Demon1 and Ethan. Demon1, a rookie that took the Valorant world by storm, became the centerpiece of an EG Cinderella run to win Valorant Champions 2023.

Ethan was one of the biggest reasons why the team worked so well. He concluded the year with the most assists in VCT Americas 2023.

Bringing in such amazing pieces, especially with Marved, Victor and Crashies being teammates. Victor and Ethan have been old CS teammates too. The team has a definitely younger, more explosive core and it's likely to work much better than their previous team.

Chet confirmed that Ethan will lead the team as the IGL via a reply to the announcement.

The team will debut at the VCT 2024: Kickoff Americas set for February 17th.
